Buckeyes are best
I read an article yesterday in which the reviewer said that he was hooked after the fourth Westworld episode. That's all good, but it also discussed that they're planning for four or five seasons. I just don't see being able to stay invested. GoT has massive scope and multiple storylines in vastly different places. While the back and forth is sometimes annoying, I don't think I'd stay interested without that. I liked The Borgias, for instance, but it was, past a certain point, a one-trick pony. I keep watching TWD even though it's pretty much the same thing over and over because they at least keep doing the same things in different places.
Well, we got to episode 4 this week, and I think that reviewer was right: this was the episode that pulled back a couple of veils and showed just how far each of the various storylines/characters can stretch out into the future of this show. This is a strange show to be sure, I'm not sure how broad of an audience it can really pull for all its eccentricities, but the cast is amazing, the production is as good as you'd hope from HBO, and the beautiful opening-credits scene pulls me right in every time. When Carmen Suite No.2: Habanera started playing during the episode finale, I had goosebumps.
