What are you currently watching on TV?

I read an article yesterday in which the reviewer said that he was hooked after the fourth Westworld episode. That's all good, but it also discussed that they're planning for four or five seasons. I just don't see being able to stay invested. GoT has massive scope and multiple storylines in vastly different places. While the back and forth is sometimes annoying, I don't think I'd stay interested without that. I liked The Borgias, for instance, but it was, past a certain point, a one-trick pony. I keep watching TWD even though it's pretty much the same thing over and over because they at least keep doing the same things in different places.

Well, we got to episode 4 this week, and I think that reviewer was right: this was the episode that pulled back a couple of veils and showed just how far each of the various storylines/characters can stretch out into the future of this show. This is a strange show to be sure, I'm not sure how broad of an audience it can really pull for all its eccentricities, but the cast is amazing, the production is as good as you'd hope from HBO, and the beautiful opening-credits scene pulls me right in every time. When Carmen Suite No.2: Habanera started playing during the episode finale, I had goosebumps.

I almost quit watching after Episode 3 and I am still not sold after 4. 4 brought enough to the table that I will probably continue to watch a few more before I make my decision.

I want to go back and start watching Eyewitness from USA and see where it goes.

I just binged "Glitch" on Netflix. It is an Australian show, just six episodes. It is definitely worth the time. It isn't amazing, but won a few Australian awards for best show (or drama or some category). This made me realize: Australia doesn't make a ton of TV.

Six people come back from the dead. People try to figure out why.

FWIW, in case you missed it and/or want to see it again, ME (Memorable Entertainment) Channel (995 on Time Warner cable) is showing the M*A*S*H finale tonight @ 7PM EST.

Contrary to most (go figure) I still prefer the film. The first couple seasons of the tv series had moments of brilliance and innovation but then began a long, slow jumping of the shark. Still watched it ( it was among the better offerings in those days) but by the time of the finale I just wanted them to kill off Hawkeye (or, even better, most of the main cast)--preferably in the least melodramatic way possible (like a version of Sartre's No Exit where the cast is sitting around waiting to be discharged and it never happens--because they don't know they're dead and are alive only through syndication). When is Saw's bar going to reopen?

Not Top Gear (aka The Grand Tour) on Amazon. No Stigger, but it's good to have Jezza, Captain Slow, and the Hamster back!
Watched this Friday on my day off. Coulda done without the fake fight with the audience and the celebrity deaths, but other than that it felt like Top Gear again, and it was great to have back.

Just finished Parks and Rec. I can't get enough Swanson.

I was out of town all week so just saw the Westworld season finale tonight... can't believe there's not more interest here in this show. This was one of my favorite 10.5 hours of ["it's not"] TV ["it's HBO"] ever, literally. Wrapped up the season nicely and opened up even more for season 2. I would vote for Evan Rachel Wood, Jeffrey Wright and Thandie Newton for their respective Emmys, along with whoever does the music.

Just finished up The Fall on Netflix. Those writers had to be pretty twisted.

Good story line for a thriller that was sickening in its topics mixed with dull, lame and often-times shallow acting. But it still captivated me like crazy for the last 2-3 weeks. Just keep taking my money Netflix. Damnit.
