West Virginia/JUCO/C.W. Post/Kean RB Jason Gwaltney (official thread)

The only recruit you really lost to us was Davis......Sanchez was always a SC fan....Jarrett grew up a big Keyshawn fan and you guys didn't really get in on him until late.....

I think you guys should be just as confident as I am about JG.....Your inside info guys have just as good info as I do...
We may have peaked Jarrett's interest late in the game, but we were in on him just as long as USC was

Thank you wstripes. I appreciate how you look at this. It is not that people on either side are lying. It is simply that each staff probably feels like they have Gwaltney close to tied up. Gwaltney may be absolutely sure and he's not telling one staff. He also might be having some doubts or is still somewhat unsure.

It should never be a "see, I was right" kind of thing. This is a tough decision for a recruit to make and its even tougher for contacts to keep current on what the athlete is feeling.

Didnt someone say gwaltney became really good friends w/ brian cushing, who appears to be sc bound. Plus, gwaltney said he was doing a little recruiting down in san antonio- the only undecided kids who could potentially be recruited were for sc. basically we didnt have any undecided kids we still had a shot at after the game.
He said that he was pushing for Cushing and McKinney to tOSU so that *could* explain some of those comments.
I don't know how much Cushing wants to look at us again, but IMO if he and McKinney wanted to come to tOSU that would ease losing McCoy and Ashley...

Gwaltney is NOT coming to OSU, and the endless speculation and false hope being propagated here is only setting you all up for major disappointment. All signs point to USC. And please don't mention the "chat" on BSB or whichever site that was...that person (even if it was actually JG) was playing with everyone in that chat room...take what was said with a grain of salt, nothing more.

I would love to be proven wrong on this, but I just don't see it happening.

Man, how screwed up is it when a USC fan has to reassure the Buckeye faithful. If I hear one more person say "JG is NOT coming to TOSU, USC always beats us, we can never win" I am going to PUKE. :smash:

If you are so negative why do you even bother?

If Gwaltney's heart is at USC, then hopefully his parents do not interfere with his desire to follow his own dreams. If it means he sits on the bench and waits, and he is willing to do that, then so be it.
I hope his parents ground him for the summer if he does it.

Now it seems that Gwaltney has pushed back his decision to give him time to visit BC with Cushing. He'd like to go to college with Cushing but says he'd rather not go across the nation to USC, so BC has a shot.

It sounds somewhat positive for the Bucks though. I really think that he's trying to look at all his non-west coast options.

Maybe he is stretching it out to see what happens with the allegations at tOSU right now. It sounds like that is still a concern for him. The longer this thing plays out, the better it is for tOSU. I still dont think he ends up here but I think are chances are higher than they were a week ago...
