Weirdest food you've ever eaten

A fancy, smancy restaurant in Ann Arbor years ago. I believed I had a spork as my utensil. I must have been in the VIP section.

Bear was probably the strangest. It was in a brat. The guy who made it only told us afterward what it was. He was a cop in the boonies of MI. I guess someone hit one with a truck. It was actually very good.

I've never had, and for the record never will, but I think mountain oysters would rank up there in the #1 position for weirdest food anyone could ever eat!! I'd rather have pickled pigs feet than eat those!!!!

A few more weird foods...

Ham Loaf... (Because it can be done with beef... doesn't make it a good idea, Maybe its just the idea that its Spam... only homemade... uggh.)

Chili Surprise (An elementary school lunch lady specialty)

Jello Salad

Cheese Whiz

Chicken McNuggets (Seriously, think about it- its more than a tiny piece of fried chicken... parts is parts.)

Pork Rinds

Any number of mystery dips/Casseroles at Potlucks.

Wait, where did you eat zebra?

I want to go to Norway or Japan where whale hunting is still legal and try that. Or maybe Alaska. Although, after seeing the Zimmern show on Alaska, the idea of that fermented whale oil they put on everything makes me afraid! When he can't eat it you know it's BAD.

Did you see the story last week where there were some whale watching boats near Japan viewing some beautiful whales and then a ship came up and harpooned one?

Look honey, orca! orca! *THWUNK*

Carnivore Restaurant, meat brought out on giant skewers, and sliced off on your plate. Great dining experience.

Wow, no, that would be pretty upsetting!

Japan's whaling industry....well, they are supposed to kill them only for research, except in like one "indigenous" spot. They are allowed to disburse the "leftover" meat but not hunt for consumption or something like that but it turns out a lot of whale meat is making it to the consumer market anyway.

OOOOOOOO! Just remembered the weirdest thing I ever ate!

A pizza in France. It was a Mexican Pizzaria in Lyon France (I think it was Lyon...if not, very close to that vicinity). The toppings were beef (from this white wooly mammoth looking cow we would see in the pastures there), little sweet pickles (that I thought were mushrooms at first), and then a semi-raw egg in the middle (which started to cook a little from being cracked on a very hot pizza pulled right from the oven).

My older brother (who's French wasn't so good back then) wanted to try the wooly mammoth cow, but didn't know the other toppings would be pickles and a raw egg. The whole thing was pretty unappetising, but neither of my brothers would eat any part of the pizza that had the egg touching it, so I ended up sucking it down, chased by a swig of a watery mexican beer...big mistake...very nasty...felt sick most of the rest of the day. :sick1:

EDIT:

And the gross memory of a raw egg-white wooly mammoth beef-pickle pizza at a Mexican Pizza joint in France is what I spend my 1,000 post on...dammit!

When I was in England and France recently it seemed like every pizza in both countries had egg in the middle...it really was terrible.
