Using your head as a battering ram is a great way to injure yourself. I don't know what it takes to get guys to stop doing it.

In close quarters its a hell of a weapon though. Just saying

Who are we punishing and to what end?

I see what you’re saying that he lowered his head after rewatching the video. But who are we protecting? If the defensive player targets and hurts themselves (like Sevyn) how does penalizing them accomplish anything?

It's a deterrent to get players to stop doing it. Apparently, the threat of crippling themselves isn't enough, so maybe 15 yards and ejection will get the next guy's attention.

It's supposed to be called. It's not the penalty that needs changed it's the enforcement or lack thereof. The shit is all over the place with interpretations. It might as well be a religious movement

Pretty sure you're just arguing for the sake of arguing now. If the rule prevents one guy from getting carted off like Banks tonight, it's worth it.

Dudes who can only tackle by launching helmet first into a runner probably shouldn't be playing football in the first place. Find another sport.

I think part of the problem is there isn't much tackling in practice, presumably for safety. But if you don't practice it how well are you going to do it?
