True but there's genuinely zero argument for leaving FSU out. They're an undefeated P5 team and there's not much separating them between Alabama. Alabama has looked like dog shit at various times through out the year, including completing a last minute 4th and a parsec to beat a trash Auburn team that got boat raced by fuckin' New Mexico State Community College. I also love how we gloss over Bama beating a .500 USF 17-3. It's debatable if Bama is even a better team than FSU, let alone head and shoulders above them.
Yep.. their road to a championship will be pretty damn easy compared to the others. Washington will basically get a bye week the first game too.
The difference between the 2015 Bucks and this year's Bama squad though is Sparty knocked OSU out of the Conference title game. Bama just won the SEC. Sadly, they really aren't comparable.
That's irrelevant by the committees own mission statement of choosing the four best teams. If it's four best teams, then that 2015 squad was one of the four best teams without question. If it's four most deserving, then sure OSU deserved to be left out but then so does 2023 Bama. Can't really argue otherwise.
It's not irrelevant at all. It's also in their selection protocol to give weight to Conference Champions. The argument could be made that OSU was "better" than MSU, but all 4 teams in the CFP that year were Conference Champs. OSU was not. Clemson, Oklahoma, Bama and MSU all won their conferences.
