Week 10 Games Discussion

Virginia beating Warrick Dunn and Florida St. also.

That was a good night

There was a time when the independents, with their schedules custom-made for title runs, with the big games strategically surrounded by several cupcakes on each side, were the envy of the sport.

Then Florida State joined the All Cupcake Conference and codified and lithified their gravy train to title contention.

IIRC, that Thursday game was their first ACC loss after several seasons of hegemony.

IIRC2… seem to remember being very happy seeing Dunn get stonewalled. It was either very late or maybe even the last play of the game.

Last play of the game on the goal-line.

Around ‘96 I believe.
1995, here’s an article remembering that game. I remember being in a hotel room in Chattanooga watching that game. At the VT tailgate I was at in 2015, there were Virginia fans who were happy to still talk about that game 20 years later.

Looking like a classic yard work Saturday.

There is one matchup of two ranked teams - #13Auburn and #14 TAMU (of course the winner here could be catapulted into the playoff picture based on StrEngth of Conference alone.)

Other than that only 3 ranked teams are playing opponents with winning records. Two of those opponents are 5-3 and the other is Liberty (Ole Miss had a choice of playing them or Death).

I like to watch CFB, but geesh.
