I am hosting a season-long competition between the two sites, and the stakes couldn?t be higher: bragging rights. Well, ok, let?s also pretend that your success as a fan base will push your team to reach the same heights.
Here is how it works. Each week I will ask you to predict the performances of a select number of players (eg, how many yards does Joe McKnight gain this week), as well as other things (eg, what is Ohio State?s margin of victory this week). I will give more info about the scoring later, but the gist is that you get points based on how close your predictions are, and you get bonus points for being the closest for a category. I will keep a running leader board every week to see who the top individual contestants are.
The team portion will work by taking the top 10 weekly contestants from each site. Those scores will be calculated each week, and a winner will be determined at the end of the bowls.
Each week you will take the ballot and replace the categories with your answers. Please leave only the predictions, one prediction per line (this helps me input things faster). Your ballot should look like this:
155
75
40
-10
205
64
You can write whatever you want above or below the ballot, but please have the ballot conform to this model so that all I have to do is cut and paste. Picks are always due by the scheduled time of the first game involved. Please post your picks in this thread.
[Fine print: Posters who registered for this site after August 24th are ineligible to participate. Stats will be determined from team websites and my decisions are final]
Here is the ballot for week one (DUE BY Saturday at 12pm ET / 9am PT):
Mark Sanchez (yards passing)
Joe McKnight (total yards - rushing, receiving, returning, passing)
Mitch Mustain + Aaron Corp (yards passing)
Todd Boeckman (yards passing)
Beanie Wells (yards rushing)
Terrelle Pryor (total yards)
Cal QB Kevin Riley (yards passing)
MSU RB Javon Ringer (yards rushing)
USC Margin of Victory over Virginia (negative if you predict they lose)
Ohio State Margin of Victory over YSU (negative if you predict they lose)
