Washington 16, USC 13 (final)

Fun with the transitive property: OSU << Washington  :wink2:

(why does this board censor greater than signs?)

edit: for some reason greater than signs are, but less than signs aren't. Because it's clearly more hurtful for someone to say someone is better than you than you worse than them.

Time for a new coach?

I am a long time Trojan fan, going back to 1975. I have seen quite a few USC games,
on TV and in person.

I am just tossing that out there, since this is my first post I will be ignored and ridiculed as "whatever newbie nice first post go home". I do know a little about USC and what I am talking about.

I have seen alot of USC losses, but this is the most ridiculous thing I have ever seen.
Wahington is a glorified high school team that was 0-12 last year. USC just lost to a
1-13 team. How is that even possible? USC, with every top player in the USA, losing to (basically) a high school football team.

And I am sorry, yes I know the Ohio st. game was rough, blah blah..but, this game still should not of ever been in doubt. Even without Matt Barkley at QB.

So, what conclusions do we draw from this, as logical people?

1. USC will not been considered for the NC again for years.
We were already the running joke on ESPN about "when is the USC yearly clunker coming?" It's going to be 100X worse now. Let's face it, USC is the laughingstock
of college football. The prize fighter with the glass jaw. Every #1 scout.com player at his position that loses to Washington and UCLA and Stanford.

2. This season is over
Goodbye NC 2010...A loss to ND or Ohio St. would of been acceptable...a loss to
1-13 Washington is not. Those of you who are going to chose to stay with USC as fans and endure this every year( I am not) prepare yourself for 4 more months of USC bashing on TV and another year next year of the same thing complete with loss to..
Arizona? Washington St.?

3. USC fans need to stop saying USC should be #1
LSU killed this same team in Washington, they led 31-17 most of the game and
it wasn't that close. And LSU is not even the best team in the SEC. Sorry folks, Florida, Texas, Oklahoma, would of killed Washington. I really hope no one here is going to make USC look stupid around November and post how USC is "The best team in the country"

4. Maybe it's time to pull PC aside and see what his problem is
Losing one of these ridiculous mis matches is understandable..twice..well , it 's a crazy world..3 and 4 and 5 times, is a problem. Obviously, Pete Carroll cannot motivate his team to get concerned about the games vs. the bottom feeders, or game plan for them. It all starts with the coach. And unfortunately, Carroll is too busy/too egotistical/whatever, that he can get his team to beat Ohio st but not Washington.
What good is all this talent going to do us if we never win the NC and are a running
joke on ESPN??

5. The "Pete Carroll dynasty" is over
Gone today folks. mark it down on your calender. The announcers even said it on TV.
Just too many losses like this, to has beens and also rans...a "Dynasty" just doesn't
lose games to Stanford and Washington and UCLA. Let's face the facts. This is always
going to be a good team, but never going to win the NC. Just not good enough to avoid losing every year to a poor team. Above average, yes..."dynasty"? no.
If you look real hard at USC since Bush/Leinart left, there isn't much that is impressive. Losses to Oregon, a very poor UCLA team, a really bad STanford team, a 1-13 Washington team...beating up on weak Big 10 teams in the Rose bowl. And what is going to make it worse, Washington is going to go about 2-9 this year, with every loss dragging USC down further. Possibly time to move Carroll to a "director of recruiting" position and bring in new coach? Just putting the idea out there.

Anyway, good luck to all of you masochists who are going to continue to be USC fans
and deal with the star studded USC team losing to Portland St. every year...

I can imagine this question being repeated all over the various Buckeye message boards and blogs: Losing sucks, no doubting that, but if it's going to happen, would you rather lose to the USC's of the world or the U-Dub's?

Chances are high they'll drop to one spot in front of OSU. Hard to argue with that considering they won the H2H meeting.
At OSU, and I completely agree with that. That's the way it is. OSU will have to look amazing, with USC looking subpar to even have a chance of passing them, rightfully. Unless USC drops 2.

Well, would you rather lose to the USC's who lost to UDubs, or to UDubs?
