HilmerJ---I read your reply on the Wake board. I think it's funny that they won't dispute or apologize for the ridiculous UNEDUCATED slander on their site. These "self-annointed intellectuals" know very little about college basketball outside of the ACC. AS I read more and more in their boards, one image comes to mind. These guys are the geeks that you see going to the library as you stumble to the stadium for kick-off. The only argument they seem to have for Wake Forest is, "we haver a higher GPA than you." WOW... maybe the chess club needs a new recruiting coordinator. DORKS.

I saw the National Geographic reference on the Wilting Flower board. Imagine that - the Heritage Festival reminds the prima donnas that attend Wake Forest of a scene out of National Geographic. I think any African American high school athlete (or student for that matter) interested in attending WF ought to recognize what the prima donnas from the southern elitist institution known as Wake Forest really think of them. Why in God's name would any African American student desire to attend that school? These WF critters remind me of the grade school kid on the playground who, not getting his own way, takes his ball and goes home. Let these prima donnas stew in their own misery.

ESPiN, it's over, man. You won. You got Cook without Conley's knowledge and then Matta got Cook to step up his friendship to win Conley and Cook over. This isn't about events on campus or whatever. Matta did what Prosser wanted to do. He struck first. Simple as that.

Wake Forest fans are just upset that we have had more success than them in the history of football and basketball. They thought they were catching up to us in basketball, but now that Matta is doing such a great job recruting, they realize that dream is not going to happen. I spoke with a friend of Greg Oden's at a track meet in Dayton a couple weeks ago and it sounds like he is leaning toward Ohio State. In that case, Conley will also end up here, solidifying four of our five recruits very early. It looks like nothing but great things in the future for our program. GO BUCKS!

When someone is back into the groove with that wonderful .scout WF site and can post.

My suggestion is to feed back their own propaganda.

Do a text search for Ohio State within the History" pdf file from the Wake Forest traditions document found over at the official Wake Forest Athletics site.

You will find these illuminating snippets:
"1939 - Wake Forest wins the Southern Conference before losing to Ohio State 64-52 in the first
round of the NCAA Eastern Championship (basketball).
March, 1962 - Wake Forest repeats as Atlantic Coast Conference champion and beats Yale, St.
Joseph's and Villanova to claim the Eastern Regional championship. Ohio State defeats the
Deacons in the NCAA semifinals, but WF beats UCLA in the consolation round to finish third in
the NCAA Tournament."

Mmm -- No basketball tradition, OSU? Looks like that's not true, even based upon the Deacon's own PR pieces.

They don't listen to logic, nor that we were no worse than a 5 seed during our four straight tourney appearances (during which time they were equal or worse). They think their tightly knit community is twenty times better for anyone, and that OSU academics could never compare. Most thought the 58% graduation rate was deplorable, and that should be a reason for Conley to go to wake, blatantly ignoring the fact that these guys probably want a solid major but would rather focus more of their energy on sports.

They can't accept that their tournament mediocrity, and are convinced they are a top-tier program and have been during these kids lifetime. They think that OSU being #6 all time in Final Four appearances can be written off by saying what happened 40 years ago doesn't matter. The funny thing is that argument invalidates their ONLY FF appearance way back in 1962, and sandgk pointed out what happened in that game :)

Basically they are a homerific board whose team has always been inferior in North Carolina (3rd best at best) and teh ACC.

I won't even get into all of the Matta is cheating, matta only won at Xavier b/c of Skip's players, Matta is using OSU as a leapfrog to the ACC/NBA lunacy they mostly subscribe to over there.

Quite a sad representation, and apparently one or more in the Conley family have frequented the board (I do not know that they have posted). Great work Wake Forest. Tho this seems to be the case for most scout boards, as our BN flamers have made similar comments for years.

Mass banning of people is the ultimate act of fear/cowardice. If it were me, I would just amass our defenses and say bring it on.....bring your yellow teeth, charcoal lungs, napoleon complexes, vertical family trees and gay accents.....bring it all you wake fans....
