Vince Young (unemployed)

moon/vick combo

I think he is like a warren type of passer
and a vick type of athlete but, bigger which, would be great for a running qb

Every texas game I saw he was force running and a lot faster then I thought. He was and he always had long runs

A picture of a black hole should appear somewhere around here

Am I the only one who thinks Vince Young has continued to throw more side-armed as the season has gone on?

I saw him in the A&M game and he looked like he'd dropped down to the side much more than earlier in the season.

I don't see him being a QB prospect. Maybe a receiver but he looks more sidearm than Bernie Kosar did.
Did you watch any games besides that one? The few times I caught him during the season he looked good passing the ball (with his awkward motion). He seemed completely out of his element in that game. Even in his early days at UT, he would scramble successfully. The guy couldn't pass, refused to scramble, and sat on the sidelines on the bench (which seemed pretty unusual, he's the heart of that team).

The guy said he would come back. He IS texas football. I doubt he's going to leave his team in shambles, unless he puts up 400+ yards against USC's defense, which is not a stretch by any means.

Good may be an overstatement. Improved? Definitely. However, he has plenty of work to do before he is considered an above average passer. His mechanics are decent, but it is his decision making that is still in need of work.

Vince may have said he is coming back, but that was early in the season...money talks and opportunities like he has this year are not guaranteed. For him to say he has to listen to the evaluations tells me there is at least some thoughts of going in his mind.

I saw him against tOSU (in person), Okie St., and A&M.

I went to a lot of OSU games this year so Texas was playing while OSU was playing and I didn't get to see him as much as I would have liked.

I do know that he seemed to drop a lot more side-armed against A&M than he did against OSU.

gotcha, well I missed the Okie St game. I don't think he's a good passer, I just think he's proven he has the ability to be a good one (agree on the decision making). His durability in the Shoe was remarkable, tho. If someone will gamble a franchise on Vick, I think they will do the same with VY.

He could benefit from another year in the system, and I'm not sure offhand if there are as many bonafide stars in the 07 draft class... guys like Bush, Leinart, Hawk, etc that have been getting hyped for years and are more complete players at their positions.

Like I said earlier, I watched the PTI and it IS possible I just missed it, but I don't recall him sying that. They kept asking questions on going pro and if you ask enough you're bound to get something you can twist though.

I think he keeps the Mack Brown stay for your senior year trend alive.

I don't understand why you would not want him as your QB.

Hell I think he is a better runner than Vick an just as good a passer. We all see what Vick does for the ATL offense and where it is without him.

He would help a team with a under acheiveing o-line. I could see him in Detroit, I think he would be a stud there.

They wouldnt be able to unleash the rush, and he would have time to hit the big recievers they have. A bad ball could still be caught and they also have a very talented rb who is hurt right now in Jones.

Young in Detroit would be scary to me.
