Verizon & Android news

I'll probably wait until after JellyBean comes to the devie to root. What roms are you all running?

I'm currently running the latest Stable CM10.

Ideally I would like to revert to stock once JB hits my Verizon S3, but I will probably be running CM for as long as they are current.

It looks like GS3 owners on VZW should be getting the Jelly Bean update next week sometime!

http://www.androidpolice.com/2012/12/13/verizon-officially-announced-galaxy-s-iii-jelly-bean-update-rolling-out-within-the-next-week/

Just out of curiosity, how many people here would be interested in a LWP where the Shoe (south stands/scoreboard) is the main background? The LWP portion is the weather, somewhat of a cross between beautiful widgets LWP and this one. I've been throwing around the idea of creating a LWP for a while.

apparently the battery life is worse (almost everyone in the android central forum was bitching about it)
Phones freezing
Notification not showing up
Problems with google apps (google play, etc)

Prob won't happen to everyone, but I'm satisfied with ICS, so i'm just gonna keep it

thats really strange and must be related to either the LTE radio or VZ's requirements. I have stock JB on a tmo S3... and I love it. buttery smooth

Wow. Just picked up the Samsung Note 2 at Best Buy yesterday, and what a great motherfucking phone it is.

Unbelievable battery life (ran 15% in all-day use, including downloading lots of apps and other crap) from its 3100 mAh battery, JellyBean OS, huge screen, pen-enabled. It's pretty big, but for my purposes that's all to the good. (Even though large in area, it's super-thin.)

Best Buy matched the Amazon.com online price of $199, and we did the upgrade swap with my wife's dumb phone so we could retain unlimited data. FTW.

you might wanna check on that, and check your bill after the month, cause I believe with Verizon's new pricing, it's no longer possible to have unlimited once you upgrade

You had to upgrade awhile ago to be grandfathered into unlimited data, as in last fall when 4G phones first came out.

Those who did keep it as long as they want, meaning until they upgrade with a contract phone. Like Max just did.

There's a way you can upgrade and keep your unlimited, as I just did, if you have a family plan with another phone which does not have unlimited data. And you can continue updating and retaining unlimited data forever.

I know, because I have verified I still have unlimited data.
