The battery life on this can't possibly be any worse than what I get with my Evo.

So I've narrowed my search down to the iPhone 4S and the Samsung Nexus Prime (the one that's releasing Nov. 10th).... Thoughts? I'm leaning towards the iPhone because my primary use, other than calling and texting, is listening to music. I like iTunes 10x more than Google Music.

http://www.androidpolice.com/2011/10/25/apple-granted-slide-to-unlock-patent/

Well, it happened - the slide-to-unlock patent Apple has been requesting was granted this morning by the US Patent & Trademark Office, meaning almost any device in America using a sliding unlock mechanism is now infringing on Apple's patent unless otherwise ruled.

A device with a touch-sensitive display may be unlocked via gestures performed on the touch-sensitive display. The device is unlocked if contact with the display corresponds to a predefined gesture for unlocking the device. The device displays one or more unlock images with respect to which the predefined gesture is to be performed in order to unlock the device. The performance of the predefined gesture with respect to the unlock image may include moving the unlock image to a predefined location and/or moving the unlock image along a predefined path. The device may also display visual cues of the predefined gesture on the touch screen to remind a user of the gesture. In addition, there is a need for sensory feedback to the user regarding progress towards satisfaction of a user input condition that is required for the transition to occur.

Those of us who can burn the charge on a Droid in a few hours, and thus need to pop in fresh juice, would dispute the whole idea that battery access "isn't really necessary."

Maybe you missed this:

12.5 hours of talk time on the Verizon network thanks to an 1800 mAh battery

Anyone talking more than 12 continuos hours a day on a cell phone needs some serious help...

My battery burn rate has [censored]-all to do with "talking time," haole boy.

(It's all to do with flash photography, GPS, scan-to-pdf, and other business tasks. But that wouldn't be snarky enough for the lede.)

Have you looked into DoubleTwist? It's and app that you install on your android and a software on your PC that will pull your iTunes direct to android.

I listen to podcasts all the time and I am not a fan of DoubleTwist/Android use of podcasts.

Okay so it's time for a new phone. My Droid 1 is going to shit as of late finally after 2 years. Droid Bionic, wait for the Razor, or something else? Obviously I have Verizon and really I've only used Android for smart phones which I don't mind one bit. I take a lot of pictures/videos and use my exchange email from work A LOT. I also play music through sync in the car.

A vote here for the Droid Charge. It's an excellent device. Great screen, 4G speed, much better battery life than the T-bolt or Revolution (and, reportedly, the Bionic). I don't like the non-replaceable battery of the Razr Droid, for reasons I mentioned above.

I wish the droid razr had a removable battery. That kills my interest in that phone.

The ever elusive Galaxy Prime should be out soon. I think that's the ticket for Verizon Smartphone customers.

Not the Nexus? Or is THAT the Nexus? Either way, it's what I'm leaning toward at this point as well... I'd love to get the iPhone for iTunes (primarily all I use my current phone for not including texting and calling), but I've been hearing the iPhone 4S has been having issues.

Kind of ironic, if Android "stole" Job's ideas... Why is it the newest, baddest Android phone doesn't have these reoccurring problems? Does it have to do with the new OS? If so, I may be content going the Apple route.
