Utah Utes (official thread)

Toilet bowl is indisputable. It wasn't a "driving" snow storm by any stretch of the imagination. It was just a gentle snow with no wind. Had fuck all to do with the ass kicking that ensued.

Nor did any flu outbreaks.
Yep. It has everything to do with not showing up motivated vs your arch-rival. And that is on the coaching staff.

Yep again. Disappointed squad, disinterested fan base, motivated opponent - wow, not shaping up to be a glorious day for the Bucks. I hope it isn't like the Rose Bowls of my youth :-(

My only positive thought here; Day has to be self aware enough to know how big this game is for him and all the other shit lines up so blatantly, obviously, we've-seen-this-before, kind of bad that it doesn't really go that way.

Utah is the more hungry team and plays a style that can absolutely hurt OSU but Day is the more desperate coach and if his offense can click, the defense only has to get a couple early stops and this game can get away from Utah. It's all or nothing as it has been all year.

Losing those Bowls bothered me a little while as I was in school then. Till a few of the players I had contact with said the reward for beating scUM was the trip and enjoying California..they wanted to win but California teams were motivated to win and show the country they could play with the best.

This is something to worry about. You could tell that scUM was way more up for The Game than we were and that was The Game. The goal for a game like this is to prove to Utah that they are a glorified mid-major and have no business playing with the big boys. That's easier said than done.

I don't think Day is as concerned about trying to paint Utah as a glorified mid major, he knows they aren't.

I think Day knows the narrative of his early career in Columbus is at a critical juncture and he really doesn't want to come out and have his team physically bullied in another loss. The Cooper/Bruce comps will have a lot more validity if he loses this game than any kind of idea that the JT/Urban line is unbroken if that were to occur.
