Utah Utes (official thread)

I don't see how Michigan and Penn St were similar at all.

OSU offense struggled mightily to score more than 30 and because of the B12 level defense, the game was very close. tsun has a much better offense than Penn State or they could have beaten this years team as well.

I also don't give a shit about this supposed pattern with one game remaining, and a new DC coming in. As if we're doomed to be some soft Pac12 garbage team forever based on....let's be honest....just the sting of the Michigan game.

The soft B12 team also showed up in an blistering loss to Bama, Oregon and a near horror loss to Nebraska. Again, it isn't one game.

MSU plays just like Michigan and we kicked their dicks off. Guess we forgot to be soft then.
The only game where the offense was able to get far enough out in front, early enough, to protect the defense.

That's a little simplistic. They struggled for different reasons.

I guess. We didn't play at peak level every game. I told my brother I didn't have any fun watching them until like week 3 or 4. But the reactions on here are more than that. They improved a ton from the beginning. They just got hit in the mouth against Michigan. I'm not saying they're an elite team, but the whining about the team and where they're headed as a program is over the top.

C'mon. Getting out in front doesn't explain giving up 7 points to a good offensive team. Maybe if we went up 3 scores and then went back and forth....won convincingly but the D struggled. That didn't happen. The D shut them down, high powered offense or not.

Mhmm. Oh noes!!!! Utah is coming!!!! We got pushed around by Michigan so now we're awful!!!!

For fucks sake, indeed. We sound like Bama fans when they didn't get into the CFP. How many teams are there in division 1 football? Because that number minus like 2 is the number of programs that would swap places with Ohio State. But we have to whine and cry for the next week+ about how fucking Utah is gonna come in and push us around, and what that ultimately means for Day as a coach and the program as a whole.

Teams lose games. So fucking what. The coping mechanisms this fan base has are off the charts annoying.
Nation - come on man. No one is whining. I certainly am not. But I'm concerned, and do you know why? Because there are 2 keys to beating OSU:
1. Don't get behind early
2. Establish the run.

If Utah does this, they will win. That seems pretty simple for a team the supposed quality of OSU. I can't speak for everyone else on this thread, but all I'm saying is they need to fix this. Michigan even said they saw things in OSU that they were going to exploit and they did. That is very disconcerting to me.

Yes, the Buckeyes are 10-2 and going to the Rose Bowl
Yes, every team in the NCAA (or division 1 as has been said) save 4 would trade places with them
Yes, there are many entitled people in OSU's fanbase (just not in this thread, IMHO)

But if they aspire to greater than 10-2 then they will need to make some changes. And I think hiring Knowles was an excellent first step.

To continue, some of us, me included, have lost track of the fact that this is a very young team: Freshman (ok, RS freshman) at QB, freshman at RB, lots of Freshmen and other first time starters on defense. After Oregon I had them going 9-3, but got excited after Oregon and lost sight of that. OSU still exceeded expectations and is in no danger of becoming a 2nd-rate Purdue, Wisconsin, Iowa level team. The future is bright.

I just don't want to lose the Rose Bowl to fucking Utah. Lol
