Someone stated it best last year when we were going through all of these things. I guess when you are on top everyone, I mean everyone is looking to take you down. We don't have all of the facts whether it was Herschel Dennis, someone else, 14 players, nobody or whether or not this involves any players period. All we can be sure of is that USC players were at a party after bedcheck and mandatory curfew.

I am glad that we aren't throwing stones at USC as we live in a very large glass house. I am glad that the people on this board are reserving comments and judgment until the facts are laid out. Even when they are we have to be careful what we say. If things are laid out and charges are brought then it deflects some negative media coverage away from us for our transgressions but sheds a negative light on college football as a whole.

We don't really have to watch what we say - this is OUR board!

Now if you go over there and talk junk, I'm sure you'll get banned. Then you'll be even for all the crap we've taken in the past. Well, not even close imo.
I personally am just kind of sitting back and taking a wait and see approach. But I certainly don't feel obligated to NOT say something about USuCk on OUR board.

This is just what is plaguing college football. Go check the healines in the CFB section of espn.com. It's becoming a police blotter.

Stuff's always been going on.. now its just more fun to make a big deal (perhaps rightfully) about every little thing...

Anyway... its too bad.. but welcome to the club.. I guess...

This news is very disturbing indeed, and I think Naples touched on it. When you're on top, people look more closely at you. The sad thing is, it looks like it's happening to every top program now. The incidents are increasing across the country. Is it an epidemic? What's going on? If the big programs are getting this kind of attention, is it happening in small programs with less press and/or interest?
Edit: Punctuation :roll1:

You're correct Stocks. No one is preventing you from expressing your opinion. Although, I think in this case no one want's to trivialize an abhorent event with "smack" talk. There are plenty of USC fans that will receive no sympathy from me, but they are not on this board. The fact is that NO ONE would condone this behavior. Not any fan, coach or administration from any school. This is simply intolerable and isn't an inditement of any school, coach or team, but of an individual. Certainly USC doesn't recruit kids to come to Southern Cal for the ease of Sexual Assault. That's the difference. If Petey were to get caught loaning his plane to recruits or giving them $1000 handshakes, etc., we'd be giving the USC fans some grief. They'd probably expect it too.

The USC fans on this board have been knowledgeable and respectful ... I'm inclined to return that attitude.

I haven't talked smack and won't.... YET. Like I said, I'm just sitting back and waiting to see what happens. just the facts maam.

you can be darn sure though, that if this was us.....all heck would be breaking loose over here...on bnuts... on the zone.....

the ONLY part that irks me is when people try to defend the players. !?! what? when did they become the victims? shesh. only after someone is proven innocent or mistaken identity or something..... in this serious case...I'm apt to wait it out and see what is going on. RAPE is not the least bit funny. I don't have a daughter... but if I do .... I'd cut some dudes scrotum off with a rusty jagged razor blade and then feed them to him..... sick mo fo's out there in the world doing stuff like that to helpless women. sick.

These days any top notch program has to walk a straight line... anything bad, and the media is all over it.

I recall when the media was having a field day when some of the younger bucks got caught drinking... give me a break, what college student isn't drinking these days???

I feel bad about the program... the media is almost spinning it as guilty until proven innocent....

wellcome to the limelight USC... it has it's bennies as well as the neg. side...

Actually, in a perfect world it would work the exact opposite way. You know, that silly "innocent until proven guilty" mantra. I am all for indefinite suspensions until things are resolved, but (aside from their role as scholarship athletes) they have the presumption of innocence. I vote we hope/pray for both the girl and the young men involved, as they are both in hard times (and we don't know what happened).

Bucknuts - yes. Ozone - yes. Buckeyeplanet - doubtful. I think that was 3yards point -- the discussion on this board with SC fans has been respectful.

I am sure that this happens at most schools, and even outside of cfb and cbb. The press plays a role in which events they publicize. A USC/OSU or cfb/cbb article will sell more stories.

I think it does call into question the path of our society.

Be careful with the vigilanteism....

Six Six Vigilantes Severely Beat and Sodomize Peeping Tom

North Royalton- Five adults and one juvenile who allegedly took part in the beating and sodomy of a man they found peeping into the bedroom window of a sleeping 5-year-old girl must now answer criminal charges.

The adults - one of whom is the girl's mother - could face charges that carry the death penalty if Mario Russo dies, police said. Russo, 44, remains unconscious on a ventilator at MetroHealth Medical Center, where officials described his condition as critical.
