USC is the NCAA darling?

I still think that Texas is everyone's darling this year, to be honest i think that when you get the Dual-threat type QB like Vince Young, everyone wants to jump on the bandwagon because they are just dying to find the next Michael Vick and don't care if the QB is really a great passer and has the vision of a QB, but just that he can run fast and juke out people. i will give Vince Young some credit, though, he has passed pretty effectively but besides Ohio State, he has not played a real credible defense, let alone an NFL defense when he gets there.

WTF?
Vince Young is a great college quarterback. He makes plays and wins games, and that's all that matter. We can argue about his passing ability all day, but evidently you've either never watched him or don't have a clue. Saying Texas is the media darling the week after the media was up in arms over Texas being #1 in the BCS is a pretty long reach. If you want to argue that Notre Dame is the true media darling, have at it. Leave Texas out of this argument.

no the real question is why are you trying to analyze this? it was a prank played by a coach on his team, big fucking deal. if you can't recognize that as being funny then you should make like a tree, and get the hell out of here.

I don't think somebody should leave because they don't think its hilarious. There's 2 sides to it....as is being discussed in the thread I provided.

My thoughts on this are on the thread 27 posted. Completely inappropriate "prank"

Suppose a less "liked" coach (by the media) pulled this same shit?

I've got a morbid sense of humor, so it's not like I'm playing pussy here. There's a line, and this one crossed it.

I thought it was a pretty funny prank. And Yes BKB I thought it was funny with Knight to, because it was done to lighten the mood.

My issue isn't with teh prank, but more with teh Media, and it is the exact reasons you have brought up BKB, and that is how would the media handle it if it would have been a team that them didn't not like?

Overall I think it is the media that is the problem not the coach.

BF - like I said on the other thread, I'm not calling for his job or suggesting the NCAA go probing, but I think this "prank" is absolutely out of line.

For the record, I have no history of suicides in my family or anything like that. It simply strikes me as highly inappropriate.

Knight got raked over the coals, and USC is just a bunch of good time pirates? Unreal.

My question to Thump was more pointed because of the racial undertones of the Knight whipping, and Thump has gone Ivory tower on that issue before, just checking consistency.

I think it's over line, as well. He could have come up with a better prank. I guarantee, based on numbers, there are USC players who thought it was over the line also, but I doubt you will hear anything from them. They don't want to be called pussies by Thump :wink2:.
If Barry Switzer had done this at Oklahoma the headline would have been "Sick and Twisted Prank Pulled by Boorish Oklahoma Coach"
