USC 20 at Oregon 47 (final)

Boise State wants no part of this team right now.

lol absolutely.

HOWEVER! The thing about teams like Oregon who have 'almost' been there so many times (Kansas, Cal, Texas Tech, et. al.) is that they cannot let up off the gas.

The psyche of a student athlete is hard to reign in. Once he starts thinking he's the shit, things break down.

But hell with that, what a great game!

The pollsters probably think that way too but I say both games and this Oregon team is completely different. They would take apart the blue turfers.

I heard all that talk before they played this year and Boise took it to them.

Anyhow, im outta here to get my goose on and get some ass, goodnight BP.

How would YOU know?

Boise State didn't take it to Oregon in any way, shape or form. They sucked that night almost as bad as Oregon did.

Besides, what the hell does that game in September have to do with what's happening right now? Oregon is playing some of the best football in the country over the last few weeks. In that same span, Boise State has struggled with Cal Davis & Tulsa.

Wow, Oregon destroyed the collective SoCal cornhole tonight. I've haven't seen a butt rape like this since 2007 in the big house.

2007? 14-3?

Why? Teams should not be rewarded for only having to get up for 1 game a year.
Not a fan. Their road uni's have been better.

Autzen is quickly rising on my list of places I want to visit for a game. They had 60,000 something people and they were putting out 110 db at one point.

Ah fuck Autzen. Whoopdy doo. Noise levels? Horseshit.

What does should've, would've or could've have to do with this? That game doesn't matter if you're talking about what would happen if they played right now.

Boise State bragging about beating Oregon would be like bragging about banging the fat Anna Nicole Smith and letting people think you did her when she was PMOY.

Well, that about wraps it up. Our defense has a lot of problems and the things people were saying before the season have finally showed up -- it's hard to replace so many NFL-talent guys on defense and not feel the effects. You can see it on our linebackers, and actually it reminds me a lot of USC's 2005 defense, which was not only injury-riddled but very young. I hope that this group has the kind of growth that Maualuga, Cushing, etc. did and we see them become dominant in the coming years.

The offense has really come together. Barkley is playing great football and is progressing at an extremely fast rate. Considering their production in this game, and considering that all-star TE McCoy is out, Havili is out, Stafon Johnson is out, and so on -- I'm not worried about the offense. Things are looking up there.

That will wrap it up for me in this thread tonight though. Hope you guys enjoy your vicarious victory.

Gotcha'.

Great Oregon game. Wish I could've been there.

I was in Eugene this evening for my daughter to "trick or treat" with her cousin. I had to make sure I was on the 105 before the game ended. We drove by, and the place was still packed (since the game was going on). Just seemed like there was an electricity around it. Pretty cool.

My poll voting is based on a body of work for the whole year - I don't treat performance in year-end games any differently than beginning of the year games. I think that the 2 teams that played the best football over the entire season deserve the BCS Title game bids - not necessarily the 2 teams that are playing the best football at the end of the season.

I believe that Oregon would probably handle Boise State fairly easily if they played now. But Boise State did beat them, and they're undefeated, so despite their weak schedule, I'm having a tough time justifying moving Oregon above them. That may change by the end of the season.

USC was somewhat overrated in the human polls - they weren't being penalized enough for losing to a fairly bad Washington team. And I know they had injuries for that game, but that's part of the game, I don't give teams a pass for that.

The placement of Oregon and Boise State will be interesting in Sunday's rankings.
