US Open at Winged Foot

that would be great. Nice to see all the golfers on a weekend for a change.

I concur with that. It'll be good to see most of the shots for everybody within 2 or 3 shots of the lead; rather than Tiger talking to his caddie, Tiger taking practice swings, Tiger trying to read the green, etc.

Tiger missed the cut at the U.S. Open, but if think he showed a

trememdous amount of courage handling everything with class, the way he did. It has obviously been a struggle for Tiger, this was the first tournament, since the Masters, he has competed in. I remember how it felt when I lost my father. The things that we shared together, were hard for the first couple of years. I wish the best for Tiger.

On a positive note, anyone that has ever played golf and experienced periods where you just could not overcome the mental part of the game, has to be pulling for David Duval. At one time, he was Tiger's main rival. In the last four years, he has no Top 10 finsihes. He is playing well, thus far. I hope he is able to succeed on the weekend.

Viewership will still be good as long as Philly-Mick is in the hunt.
Not as good without Tiger, though.

Without any rain, that course is going to go from near-impossible to beyond-torture-God-is-this-round-over-yet-brutal

Without rain I think the winning score will be at least +5. If the wind picks up on top of that, we will get to see grown men cry.

Good to see David Duval have the low round of the day and make the cut. In recent weeks he has been playing better and perhaps now he has turned the corner. He went from one of the best players in the world to an afterthought. Hope he keeps it up and returns to his old form.

I understand Winged Foot has a lot of difficult greens and the rough is a nightmare... but what's causing so many guys to miss every single fairway? Tiger couldn't hit one. Phil couldn't either. And what the hell is Phil doing hitting driver on the 18th with a 1-stroke lead? He could've gone with a long iron off the tee and another to the green.

You hate to see two golfers choke like Phil and Monty did on 18.

Without Tiger on Sunday, it did feel a little empty. Would have been a great story if he had made the cut, and won the U.S. Open on Father's Day.

Congrats to Ogilvy. He survived when everyone around lost it.

Holy shit, Phil, Monty.

I know Phil already won his Masters', but just watching today you know why these guys have been the ones who could never win the Majors. I'm just glad that atleast Phil got the monkey off his back, because today could have been even more hell than it was if he didn't.
