Legit don’t know what people see in Fickell. I get constantly told any idiot can win 10 or 11 games with OSU’s talent yet Fick coached OSU to its worst record in 100 years or some shit. Even with the circumstances, you’d think he could’ve gotten them to over .500 record. The same squad Urban coached to an undefeated record the next year.

Urban’s program felt like it was teetering on the edge of a cliff after the beating in 2016. 2018 easily felt like they could’ve been a .500 team if certain breaks didn’t go their way. Not sure how much juice Urban has left. Quite frankly I‘m not even sure Urban beats any of these Michigan squads the last three years. They’re way better in the trenches than they used to be.
Bollman and Heacock were running that 2011 team. Fickell was just HC in title only so the two coordinators didn’t have to do interviews. He was hamstrung from the go. Him playing Desmond Ritter as a freshman in week 1 against UCLA at the Rose Bowl tells me he would played Braxton if he was allowed to make those decisions

You have a first year head coach with Jim Bollman as the OC and a first year starting QB. You are going to compare those results to a head coach with 10 years experience and already built a program and won two NCs and was able to pick his coaching staff? Plus Braxton had a year experience and was a perfect fit for Urban's offense.

Neither is going to happen, so why even pose the question? Not only that...do we want either of them to be..?

The answer is no.
Of course it won’t happen but I’d take either one right now given the chance

In a heartbeat

I just find it interesting which would be preferred

It’s a message board, posing thought provoking questions is kind of the point of these web sites isn’t it?

That’s what I pay $59.99 for.

If you're only paying 59.99 then I'm getting ripped off. I was under the impression that 79.99 was the current deal.

Yes because I get told, ad nauseam, anyone can win 10 games a year with OSUs talent advantage.

The Cincy playoff berth is his only impressive accomplishment.

How is he making his mark at Wisconsin? By coaching them to the exact same they had last year?
Fick was also missing a big chunk of what was expected to be the starting lineup in 2011 because of the suspensions, some of which wound up lasting most of the season. Do you remember Joe Bauserman? and then a very, very raw true freshman Braxton Miller being thrown in to the fire? He was also hamstrung by not being allowed to hire his own staff. Add the shitshow and turmoil that was happening in the program at the time and think about that again. Hell, he took a seriously wounded team in to Ann Arbor and was one Braxton overthrown pass away from beating a Top 15 UM in their own house. I've never dinged Fickell for that season. For a first year Head Coach thrust in to the job just a couple months before the season started I always though he did a decent job.
