Urban F. Meyer (Former OSU, CFB and NFL coach)

I don't think we need sources to judge demeanor. Something is changed with Urban. You can see it on the sidelines, you can see it when he stands away from the team and you can hear it in his voice.
I do believe he is experiencing some health issues. I also believe the Zach Smith saga took a great toll on Coach as well.

Sure, we're 10-1 but it's mainly about the way we've been winning games. Seasons like this drag on and you have this feeling the ball will drop eventually. Be it against scUM or in the bowl game, what makes the difference
between a 10-1 squad and a 9-2 is how the team develops over the course of the season. If we took an early loss or so but started playing much more sound, most importantly defensively, you would have this feeling of increasing
optimism. Remember 2005? Dropped early to Texas in a close one, Troy comes in full time, we struggle a bit. Then we have the bottom vs Penn State. Afterwards the offense begins to gel, things look up, there is excitement for The Game and before you know it we're pumped for the Fiesta Bowl. This is like that but in reverse.

Now we're left with feels a bit like impending doom.
Indeed sure he’s emotional on the sidelines and yes he usually acts that way. But at the same token he wouldn’t have his head in hands bent over away from the team as the huddled. He’d be right in there listening, giving input and generally trying to fire up the team. That’s missing this year

Now he might get treatment on the offseason and get back to himself and keep coaching or he might call it quits. But he should do what’s best for him and not try to just coach through it.

It's certainly possible he could be done. What's absurd is that he has been simultaneously diagnosed as too emotional and too flat with the same conclusion from the so-called TV evidence.

Urban has always been a wreck on the sidelines. It's what has driven his team to chase greatness, and occasionally what causes some stiff dropoffs (for him or the team). If he chooses to hang it up, I can't blame him.

Many hoped Urban could find a way to enjoy football again in Columbus. Instead, after delivering the ultimate prize, his fanbase forgot what joy is.

I can’t speculate what Urban will do. I can only guess what I would do. And I’d definitely walk. No doubt about it.

Time is the most precious commodity we have. He’s one of the all time greats with an absurd winning percentage and 3 Nattys from 2 different schools. He has a major health issue and just went through a major scandal where his employer, the school he loves, just hung him out to dry.

Personally, I make a graceful exit and find another adventure. I mean, damn, is all the drama bullshit and risk to your health really worth it considering you have already won it all 3 times? For me it’s an easy decision.

“Adios muchachos. It’s been fun. Bartender, tall pour please!” There’s such incredible freedom in that to me.

Can we write a Disney movie where we ride a magical late season surge to a National Championship then he hangs it up while on top?

Maybe not a great reference, but...

I mean seriously... if Urban didnt hang it up when they said "here eat this shit sandwich" earlier this year I have a REAL hard time thinking he's going to call off the dogs because people noticed hes got a health issue hes been dealing with his whole fucking life.

I dont know anything for a fact but there are a lot of people going out of their way to figure out what his exit strategy is. Take away the suspension and this isn't a discussion. And I say again... he already knowingly chose to eat that shit sandwich

Yeah I would walk too. He's won 3 titles, numerous other conference titles, and he's given it everything he has. As you said time is everything and with his stressful occupation I wouldn't blame him one bit. I said earlier this season he would retire (when he dropped to one knee) and I really think he will.

With that said the only thing that may keep him here is pride. If he leaves everyone will be saying "i told you so" or "see he must be guilty and he wants to avoid trouble" which includes Brett McCleveland steamer. I can only imagine what that POS will write if UFM does hang up the whistle.

Lots of smoke on this and you just have to hope we can send UFM out right.

The one thing I ABSOLUTELY do not want though is for UFM to stick around for 1 more year and have this team go Florida 2009 on us. He's got to be 100% committed and if he can't do that he should retire and enjoy his grand kids
