Urban F. Meyer (Former OSU, CFB and NFL coach)

What ever happened with Zach Smith's hearing? The one that was originally postponed until Sep 14 and then the last time I asked I was told it was rescheduled for, I think, Oct 10. I'm not going to search for that post and it came from one person without citation so I don't know if it was accurate.

I can't find any updates through online searches. Has the hearing happened yet? I really figured that someone in the media would be on that because we might find answers to some unanswered questions. It seems the sports media has forgotten about that story they were so obsessed about a month before the season started.

This is another reason OSU should never have allowed themselves to get baited into a big to do over this matter. It was all too predictable that college football nation would forget the story as soon as the season started. OSU made it more of a story than it ever should have been and irreparably damaged not only Meyer's reputation but the university's as well. But that's beside the point. I've shared that opinion before.

But seriously, what's up with Zach's hearing? Can we get some official confirmation on whether or not it was a setup by Courtney? Can we find out from the Powell police how often they were called to the Smith household? If the charges are dismissed, which I'd be willing to bet they will be, will anyone tell us?

I'd like to answer you, but my opinions of Brett Kavanaugh belong only in the Political forum.

Which, apparently, I've been banned from.

Obviously for my own good.
I've never been there. For a forum where nobody thinks Penn State is a rival and where there's a disturbing obsession with dildos, I'm pretty sure I know what that board looks like.

Worried about Urbs...just watched the Monday presser. He was rubbing his temple and wincing a couple different times. Clearly this thing isn't going away and he just seems off to me.
I share your concern. I have the feeling he would risk dying before he does something about it during this season, but what the hell do we know really?

Forget the Poli Forum. 'Tis a silly place.

Well, he has been on the record as saying that the cyst is causing headaches, but seemed to insinuate (or outright state - I can't remember) that there were no long term health risks.

That is what he said. I believe he would admit to a larger risk about as much I believe the prophets descended from the heavens to tell him in his dreams that Sharif Floyd was going to be a Gator.

Hope he is doing what is best for his health. I am certain that Shelley and the kids aren't going to let him forget the contract he signed when he came back.

Agreed. I generally watch the Monday and mid-week pressers and he does that constantly. At last weeks mid-week (pre-Minny) presser, I thought his face looked swollen. Something is definitely not right.

At the weekly press conference yesterday, he was asked if he thought the team was improving.

Before we discuss his answer to the question, ask yourself how you would answer if you were only allowed one word. Many of you have already made your opinion known, and without exception you’ve said that the most recent game showed regression, not improvement. Most who commented named this fact as the primary source of frustration.

Given how obvious it is that there did not appear to be general improvement from game 6 to game 7, and taking into consideration how much more frustrated Urban must be with this than we are; consider his answer.

He cited a bunch of players, by name, as having shown recent improvement.

None of the named players were starters.
None of the named players were upperclassmen.

Now consider that Gerry Dinardo (admittedly 5% of the coach that Meyer is) recently said on BTN that “all” coaches use the weekly press conference to talk to different groups, regardless what the reporter asked. One of the groups that coaches talk to most frequently by way of the weekly press conference, is the players.

So was Meyer just answering the question?

Or was there a message in there for the players?

Yeah I think the same thing... Something doesn't seem to add up. Especially around his eyes it seems swollen to me.

Goes to show you how much he loves this school and how much he cares... all of the off season stuff took a heavy toll on him IMO.

I want him to get healthy though and whatever achieves that I hope he persues it (retirement be damned).

I'm of the opinion though that he thinks about retiring soon though.
