Urban F. Meyer (Former OSU, CFB and NFL coach)

My only question from today's press conference:

How in the Blue Fuck did Meyer not know that our Linebackers had Zero tackles in the Tulane game until he heard it from a reporter?

A reporter

I get it: He only seems to really have a hand in the offense.

But how does no one in The Woody even mention that to him before he walks into the Monday AM presser?

I guess he’s taking that CEO role to heart?

But, yeah, that seems like a strange thing to not know.

Slightly TIC but my guess is Coach Davis is CYA and/or hiding from Urban. Like when I screw up at work but try to fix it before the boss can find out.

Great to have him back. Welcome home, Coach!
:oh:
I have the notion that Urban took a long look at the way his coaching staff handled the 3 games without him being there. Maybe it was a blessing in disguise in a way. And when he came back after the Tulane game, he had an idea that there wasn't any thing for him to do, other than to roam up and down the sidelines and let the games just play out. He seems to be satisfied just the way things are and that he doesn't need to interfere with anything. And that his coaching staff feels the same. He seems to have the look of a guy who has just gotten a monkey off of his back. That's my opinion...….

Do you really think he's satisfied with the defense?

I'm sure he did some of that, but there's no way a perfectionist would be ok with everything and just willing to let things go as they are if he sees an issue.

As @OregonBuckeye said, there is an exactly 0% chance he's satisfied with the defense right now.

I doubt he's satisfied with either the O or the D, frankly. That's what make Urban Urban.

But, the big plays on D ... if people were paying attention at the time of the Grinch hire... this shouldn't be a surprise. Aggressive D's have a tendency to give up the big play, unlike the more conservative D we've grown accustomed.

Edit: Dont get me wrong, I'm not excusing it. Just sayin, schemes always have a weakness. If you want to force the action, well... sometimes ya wiff.. and you look bad when you do.

If you haven't noticed, press conferences haven't been Urban's thing lately...
