(unofficial) Rose Bowl thread - USC vs. Texas (merged)

As amazing at it may sound Craig James is the only national media type I heard give defense its due and pick OSU over ND and UT over USC, but i don't listen to many of them so maybe he wasn't alone(yeah right).

To his credit, Corso was over Texas like the rest of ESPN was over Reggie Bush and Matt Leinart...that being quite a bit :)

Leinart shouldn't have said they were still the better team, that's arrogance, he should at least say that Texas was better TODAY...

For anyone to say that Leinart's comments are excusable is boggling to me. It was an arrogant, bitter thing to say, and he's wrong. USC played their guts out last night, and lost - to a better team. When Texas needed a stop from their D, they got it. USC has no defense.

I would also like to point out that Mack Brown did his best to lose that game last night, but Vince Young proved to be unstoppable. Why the hell he quit blitzing Leinart (3 sacks, numerous pressures, forced bad throws, an INT, and several hard hits in the first half) I will never understand, and it very nearly cost him the game. Had he made the same defensive calls in the second half, this game would not have been close.

In both polls, Auburn is ranked ahead of Wisconsin. hmmmmmmm......didn't those two teams play each other recently? 24-10? Wisconsin is 10-3, Auburn is 9-3. I know it's a moot point, but how in the world can this happen? Are those poll voters so totally ignorant that they don't even know what the bowl results were?

Because he was in the hospital...
Dorsey was physically sick after the 2003 Fiesta Bowl. He puked on the team bus all the way back to the hotel/resort that the Canes were staying at. He had taken a vicious beating for 4 hours, lost only his second game as a starter, lost the repeat bid, and was dehydrated like a piece of beef jerky.

Dorsey was a gamer that left everything on the field but his lunch. After going up in the first OT, he was on the sidelines yelling at his teammates to stay focused and the game was not over yet. While his team was popping the champaign, he was rallying the troops.

Dorsey earned my repsect that day.

I watched the game too.

Not doubting that Ken was a warrior that game, just that he had nothing to say after the game to the press because he was on his way to the hospital.

I do remember K. Winslow saying that the better team lost...punk

This wasn't on the field right after the game but later in an informal press conference. It was the same time he said VY was "freakish." I'm pretty sure he said he felt they won the game.

leinart was on the field being interviewed when he said he felt they won the game...and then she called him vince...

he may have also said it later on, but i know for a fact he said it when he was being interviewed on the field...

Sideshow

Great game last night on the field and on sidelines. The USC sweater girls and how about those UT babes wearing the chaps. Gotta hand it to both schools there as they also finished #1 and 1A in sideline visuals.
