Spectacular!

BTW...Congrats on the offer TAZ! I'm so psyched up and hope that OSU is your favorite at this point. Even if you don't come here, you're a great guy and I wish you a spectacular career. It definately wouldn't hurt if you were wearing the S&G though!

What number do you hope to wear in college TAZ?

Since there are a lot of people miss quoting information attributed to me... I will for the final time, explain where I think we are with TAZ.

THIS IS ALL MY OPPINION AND DOES NOT REFLECT TAZ's OR ANYONE ELSE

This whole thing exposes a stupid trait found in all of college recruiting, and VERY prevalent with OSU. And that is, when is an offer really an offer? I understand how it works at OSU, and most other major colleges, but in this example, I will use OSU.

A kid comes to camp, Staff see's something they like, they make he an offer. It can be verbal, written or both. It is an "offer". In other cases, a kid is getting a lot of attention. Maybe OSU has a tape or two on the kid, but very limited contact. One day the area recruiting coordinator will call up and say we want to offer you ride. The third case is when a kid wants to get some attention. He will tell the media that he has an offer from OSU, even though he does not. This year, as most, we have see all of this happen.

Now, as the season goes on, the coaches, who can see one game a season live, talk to the recruit at the most once a week "on purpose", they try to decide how may scholarships they really have, and who they really want. Recall that nothing is valid until you have a LOI, and that can be revoked if the recruit fails to clear the University's admissions criteria.

Now, in Ronnie's case; Yes he was offered. Originally, as I posted back in June/July, Bollman had 3 OL rides allocated to him. Then came along Ronnie & Doering, who they wanted bad. Tressel gave Bollman the opportunity to take one more ride for OL. Well now that "extra" ride keeps going then coming back. It is not indicative of Ronnie, or his ability in any way, except that he is so talented it has put OSU in a quandry in terms of OL, It is simply and clearly, a "numbers game" in terms of how may Offense rides they need to give vs Def. rides they want to give. BTW, Ronnie is fully qualified, his SAT is 100 points higher than his Core Credit Score would need it to be. In short, Ronnie is an extremely intelligent kid, who is graduating early.

So, over they next 14 days, Staff will figure out what they want to do with this one particular scholarship. If it should be used for OL or somewhere else. It is my personal belief, that if Ronnie had the opportunity to receive the scholarship, I hope and think he would take it.

No matter where Ronnie Wilson goes to school, I think we all owe him a big "Thank You" for everything he has done to position himself to be a Buckeye and the contributions and insight he has shared with all of us on this board. He is a great man who will do very well in life.

Damnit C-Dog, where is that applause Icon?

Thanks for clearing all of this up. I really hope Taz gets the schollie. We fans have a huge emotional attachment to him and he seems to be sold on the school and the team.

Please don't screw this up gentlemen. Taz is a great kid with a huge future. And OSU can only make it brighter for him.

Let us consider putting together some sort or a respectful petition to email to the athletic department. I realize the fans don't run the OSU football program, but i don't see it hurting anything either. We helped get Ronnie the Broward Country D player of the year, why quit now?
