I really wish they'd go back to sudden death, "golden goal" as they call it. Seems pretty stupid to play an entire match, go to overtime, and the first score doesn't win it. Worse still is when both teams score in extra time and it comes down to penalites, aka the worst way to decide a match. Much better to have a goal scored in play decide it.

Agreed. Golden goal is/was 100x better than PK's.

What a disappointing game. Aside from the 3 or 4 close misses, this game has been an absolute snooze fest. England wanted nothing to do with coming out of their 9 man brick wall defense, and Italy seemed to do everything in their power to crack the defense, but failed in doing so.

This one seems destined for a PK shoot out. History suggests if it comes to that England will lose.

:pimp:

Italy deserved the win based on the play of the entire match, and Buffon saved the day in the end.

Or when England decides to just turn the ball over every time they get it during the OT and just sit back and play defense.

If you want some entertainment, tune into BBC 5 Live or Talksport the next few days to listen to the British blow up their team (even though a blind person could see Italy was better).

Whoever ends up being the team that loses to England in a shootout, they should be ashamed

Honestly thought Ashley Cole was going to miss, because he just recently shot in the Champions League final (same side)...and he plays for England

Didn't get to watch a single quarter-final game due to being in the field for five days training, but I did catch up on the highlights. Everything went as expected so thankfully I didn't miss out on anything historic or shocking.

Oh England....
