UEFA Champions League (Official Thread)

Looking forward to tomorrow's fixtures.

Arsenal should have a great deal of trouble with Schalke.

City desperately needs a win at Ajax, I think they'll find a way.
We need Richards, Kompany, Lescott, and Clichy to work effectively and City should get 3.

Borussia Dortmund and Real Madrid looks to be the best game to me.
In my years of watching City I've rarely seen them outplayed to the degree which Dortmund did. With home field I see Dortmund pulling a minor upset.

Minor? This "minor upset" would be all over ESPN. Which isn't saying much, but still.

Dortmund doesn't look like they've skipped a beat since losing Kagawa.

I only said minor because in my eyes Dortmund is just as good as Real Madrid.

For sure.. But I'd say you and I, as well as a few others on here, would likely be in the minority on that statement.

CR7 is all the rage EVERYWHERE.... He's good, yes. He is no Leo Messi though.

Schalke pulling a shocker at the Emirates, a 2-0 win over Arsenal.
Didn't watch any of this one although it would of been better than the City game.

Ajax over City 3-1, this one is on the manager. City looked great in the first half, got several chances and Nasri slotted in one. Ajax got an equalizer before half off poor marking.

When the second half rolled around Ajax got a cruel deflection goal off Clichy's body.
I don't know why Roberto panicked as City had looked somewhat dangerous in the last 30 minutes but he really over did it.
In response he decided to go to his infamous 3 in the back desperation move, as a result he took off Lescott and left Richards, Kompany, and Clichy. Clichy showed his disapproval of being forced to play in the right center back position and it became obvious why he had.

Dzeko squandered two chances with a 1v1 with the keeper, difficult chances but much needed from your star striker.
Ajax knocked one in off a corner which sealed City's Champions League fate for this year. I don't expect City to win the remainder of their games which would only get them ten points anyhow.

Dortmund beat Madrid 2-1, saw that coming.

Pivotal games tomorrow for a lot of teams. Arsenal couldn't have picked a worse time to have to head to Gelsenkirchen to play Schalke. AC Milan get unblemished Malaga at home. Group D will once again take center stage with Madrid looking for revenge against Borussia Dortmund at home & City desperately needing a revenge win of there own against Ajax at home, otherwise there daunting knockout stage qualification will look impossible.

Ajax up 1-0 within 10 minutes at City. Scramble after a corner leads to the opener. Exactly what they didn't want to happen.

I don't understand what is wrong with Man City this season. Dortmund and Madrid I can understand, but Ajax (despite being the eriedivise champs) should not be up to their level.

Man City has none of the cohesiveness and flow of play that they showed last season.
