UEFA Champions League (Official Thread)

Love the draw for United. Think we match up well with Chelsea, Inter is certainly not as good as last year, and we don't have to see Real Madrid or Barca until the finals, should we get there.

Initially I felt the same way, that advancing past Chelsea shouldn't prove too difficult for the Red Devils. But, then again, Chelsea did just defeat them 2-1 without significant contribution from Torres, Drogba, or Anelka.

For some reason my gut says Chelsea will advance. I wonder if advancing to the Champions League final would be enough for Ancelotti to keep his job? Doubt it, for the amount of talent Chelsea puts onto the pitch every match, this has been a dreadful season.

David Luiz was the reason they won, and he's not eligible for CL matches I think. Plus, a healthy Valencia makes a large difference for United. I think it comes down to the health of United's backline. If Vidic is healthy, paired with Smalling at CB we are pretty set. If Wes Brown has to play significant minutes, things get dicey.

Chelsea won in large part to 2 awful decisions by a lackluster referee. Ancelotti is a dead man walking, can't see how he survives this year. United should hopefully pull out a narrow win.

No David Luiz and with Valencia and Nani on the wings, I hope United can get it done.

Looks like Real Madrid, Barcelona, and FC Schalke have punched their tickets to the next round unless they completely fall apart.

Chelsea has a slim chance against Man U but I think Man U has it in the bag.

Real Madrid and Barcelona could meet in the Champions League. They are already going to play for the Copa Del Ray on the 20th and they also play this Saturday. Can't wait to watch these two giants tangle in the next several weeks.

Fuck Barca and Real Madrid. Dives every minute made a match between two incredible clubs absolutely unwatchable. Fuck! That was fucking pathetic.

I'm not a Man U. fan, but I hope they beat the shit out of Barca in the final.

Fucking Fuck!!!

Agreed. If I'm FX, I'm furious that I even aired that atrocious game. I'm an avid "fan" of Man U in the next round regardless of who advances between Barca and Real. Although I'd like to see Maurinho (sp?) win a CL Final at yet another club and move on to the US! (So he says)

Greatest Floppers Ever advance today on aggregate 3-1. Drew in todays game, 1-1.

I hope that someway Manchester United can find a way to knock them off! Man U's midfield will have to step up big time if that's going to happen.

I agree. The first leg between Barca and Real was horrible. I loved that the flop man Dani Alves was called out on twitter by several football players. That red card on Pepe was bs in that first game. Man U's midfield has played well but they just can't touch those Barca players. They drop like flies. Those little bitches need to hit the weight room or trying acting as career.

Nani and Giggs have to be big on the corners if they want to win that game.

Giggs has looked better this late in the season, then he has all season long IMO. One of my favorite soccer players.

That red card was complete bullshit. And not only soccer players called it out, but one of the European golfers called him out too. I don't know golfers names, sorry.

This Barcelona squad is quite possibly one of the best teams of any sport in any decade. 30-6-2 in their League (39-8-3 including UCL, I believe). La Liga and Champions League trophies, while narrowly missing the Copa del Rey. Hard to find a team with better chemistry, understanding and overall teamwork. Just a splendid display of dominance by Barca (68% possession and 3 goals). Easily the most deserving team in Europe.
