Man City 0 - 2 Barcelona. 2nd half penalty & red for Demechelis, converted by Messi doomed City. They deserved a goal for their efforts after being reduced to 10 men, but weren't rewarded & eventually conceded a 90th minute goal to Dani Alves. Penalty decision was very tight, but there was certainly contact made outside the box. Tough call to make in real time though.

Bayer Leverkusen 0 - 4 PSG. Inperious were the Parisians as they opened up the scoring within four minutes. Ibrahimovic continued his torrid scoring rate converting a penalty later in the half & a blasting home a wonderful hit just outside the box on his left foot minutes later. Cabaye closed the scoring late in the 2nd with a nice effort well placed in the top right corner.

Bayern beats Arsenal 2-0 and Atletico beats Milan 1-0.

Szczesny was sent off for Arsenal after 37 minutes. Arsenal doesn't have the horses to win the Champions League, but probably going out on a defensive lapse by a substitute left-back leading to a dumbshit challenge by the keeper is tough.

Borussia Dortmund pound Zenit on the road 4-2 in the first leg. They scored twice within the first five minutes & Lewandowski added two more in the 2nd half. Over.

United at Olympiacos kick off the first leg in ten minutes on Fox Sports 1.

Olympiacos 2-0 over United.

And it wasn't even close. United were horrific, especially in midfield & on the right side. Certainly not out of it yet, but very concerning and just another sign of how out of sorts this "team" is.

The hilarity of the whole thing is the contrast between the first game with the second game.

Dortmund played free-flowing and looked like they were having fun (and I'm assuming Shinji Kagawa would do anything to go back there at this point).

United looked like they want the season to be over with and/or like they stopped caring. I'm searching for the apt adjective, but "not good" is all I can come up with.

Bayern Munich, Atletico Madrid, Barcelona & PSG have all punched tickets to the Quarterfinals. With Real Madrid & Borussia Dortmund all but assured spots as well, this could be the deepest round of eight in years. Chelsea should advance as well, but still have work to do & with United, who knows which team will show up at Old Trafford next week.
