Game Thread UCF Knights at tOSU - Sat, Sep 8, Noon ESPN2

I'll take a 38-10 final score. Defense needs to tighten up, get some pressure and keep the offense on the field. Offense needs to figure out their rhythm. Be patient, mix in enough pass with the option, figure out the reads and hammer down.

Not liking all the runs that seem to be on purpose for Braxton, but he's getting it done. Time to make adjustments and hopefully make it one sided after the half.

It's a catch 22.

They're taking away the pitch-man, they're taking away the inside gap runs, but when we spread it 5 wide, they're giving us the middle of the field.

I'm sure Meyer and Herman would prefer not running Miller 30 times a game, but UCF 's defense is dictating it. I guess if that is what we can exploit, you do it. Unfortunately it lends itself to utilizing Braxton and his feet a lot more than anyone would like.

Does anyone know if Strasburg is shut down for the season?

As for the second half, we will adjust after a stern talking to. Everything just looked sloppy in the first, let's see this coaching staff adjust.

Other than the nice screen pass and one big run by Storm I think our D played pretty well. Totally agree about the Offense. Way to sporadic. Need to find their rhythm.

GO BUCKS!

Gotta take what they give you. Lets see if they let him pitch it in the 2nd half

Well there's not much choice right now. In saying that They need to find a way to get braxton's passing game going. He is just about on par with last week and if he has to run all game cramping may be an issue again. I for one would not want to try and finish this game with out Braxton.

Observations-

1. We need to take some chances with our base defense. We are getting out muscled in our nickle and I think that was UCF's game plan. Get us in Nickle personnel and then run right at us with our smaller defense on the field. We need to get some size out there to counter.

2. Our offense is fine and for the most part is all that is being made out to be. 3rd and long? No problem. Lots of blown plays early (particularly Hyde forgetting twice that it was a handoff to him).

3. Our defensive line is getting ZERO push or penetration. Two games straight that this has happened going into the half. If I hear "we were laying back to see what they'd do" or "we needed to face some problems" I'm not buying it this week. The objective is simple, whip the man across from you and FUCK the play up.

4. Philly Brown is going to be great all year and you can see just how dangerous this offense will be once we get Hall back.

5. Christian Bryant really has issues with angles of pursuit.

WHERE IS STONEY??????

Need to get him involved and get the safeties away from the line of scrimmage for the option game.

Stoney is playing WR, not Tight End this year.

And if he's not open and it's not a pre-programmed throw, Braxton isn't forcing things into tight spots this year.
