The fee schedules by Unis are a scam, but not because UCF is making a perfectly valid point about the CFP Committee.

Bama finished 20TH in the AP Poll and 3rd in the SEC.....

I didn't say it was right. I said it's a scam... but what's UCF rightfully celebrating an undefeated season have to do with it ??
Seems a pretty odd spot to stand on a soapbox about student fees.

I don't really have a problem with them celebrating their NC. It's a cheap publicity stunt but have fun with it. Hang the banners. I do take exception to a school that takes such a huge subsidy throwing hundreds of thousands of dollars at their exiting coaches as part of their cheap publicity stunt.

Presumably the contracts spell out what criteria are used to deem their team a national champion. It would be have been humorous to have the AD have to admit that UCF does not legally recognize their claimed national championship.

This is a mid-major that we're talking about. There's a good chance that the contract is so poorly written that a fan wearing a giant, foam "we're #1" finger has triggered the bonus clause and put them in legal jeopardy.

You're not the only one out there making the claim, but calling Wolfe today an "officially recognized poll" is a bit of a reach. Wolfe's system is mentioned in the NCAA Record Book as part of a "historical list of poll selectors", but that is mostly by virtue of having been part of the BCS formula. The only "National Poll Champions" listed in the year-by-year results since 2014 are the CFP, AP, Coaches and FW-NFF rankings. Wolfe's "poll champions" are only even mentioned from 2001-2006.

But that all may be beside the point: the ratings on his site are only current through December 2 anyway.

Well it'd certainly put them in a legal bind if they publicly declared those things, then turned around and told the coaches "no we weren't serious".
We have our own dubious 12-0 banner in the WHAC btw... is that silly ?
Is it silly UCF went undefeated but wasn't given a chance to play for anything just because some snobs in a closed-door meeting randomly decided an also-ran with recent pedigree should get that chance instead ?
Do you think it's silly to UCF's players and staff (not just Frost)?
