U.S. Men's National Soccer (Official Thread)

I never thought FIFA had any bounds in terms of corruption, but extending FOX's U.S. TV rights to the 2026 World Cup without any sort of bidding raised FIFA's corruption to a new level.

Just think if the U.S. got the rights to the 2026 World Cup.

This was probably to appease the pending litigation from FOX due to the World Cup being moved to the winter in 2022.

What does Sepp Blatter care? I doubt he'll be alive to see any sort of World Cup in 2022 or 2026.

The 2022 world cup hasn't officially been moved to Winter yet though, correct?

U.S. Women's National Team wins Algarve Cup with 2-0 win over France.

After watching a couple games in this tournament, the U.S. Women need a little bit of help holding the ball in central midfield (help with Carli Lloyd). If the team ever decided to go All-Out Attack, it might be interesting.
I think the biggest problem is Jill Ellis. This is what happens when you let the inmates run the asylum.

They (team leaders like Wambach) keep saying the players had nothing to do with the change and didn't threaten mutiny. But U.S. Soccer and Gulati don't jettison coaches out of nowhere w/o completing a cycle, so I don't really believe the players (completely).

Not sure why I even watched the game vs. Denmark, but they put together maybe five meaningful attacks the entire game & scored on two of them. On the flip side, they were completely dominated by Denmark. I mean, Nicklas Bendtner put up a hat-trick on them, but you can't really garner much from friendlies like this when a lot of the "real" starters weren't even in the team.

Garbage performance as a team. Defending and holding midfield was awful. A few guys were ok, like jozy, but this team has lost a lot of momentum. Yedlin is really suffering from riding the pine...he needs a loan badly.

They should just dissolve the entire USSF for giving up a single goal to Bendtner, let alone a fucking hat trick.

Yedlin has been in London for less than three months and he's been injured half that time. He would never get loaned until see more of him in training.
