Ty Isaac (official thread)

Unfortunate situation for the young man, but whoever gets him is going to be getting a good one. Wasn't ND a strong contender for him before he committed to USC ? I know he committed in the summer, but I thought they were right in the thick of it beforehand. Either way, best of luck to him wherever he ends up, unless of course it's UM.

Ex-USC RB looking to go B1G in transfer

It’s remains unclear to which school Ty Isaac will transfer after leaving USC earlier in the week. The running back did, though, allow that one conference in particular is the current front-runner for his services.

“I wouldn’t say I have a top three, but I’m looking at Big Ten schools that are close to where I live,” the running back told the Chicago Tribune.

The Joliet, Ill., native left the Trojans in order to play closer to his ailing mother. According to the player, his mother is having complications after undergoing a surgical procedure to correct a hearing loss.

Michigan has already been in contact, Isaac said, as has Illinois. Isaac opted to sign with the Trojans over a final three that included the Wolverines and Notre Dame.

Not sure why he'd want anything to do with Michigan, considering how terrible their offensive line has been. Averaging 1 or 2 yards per carry doesn't exactly drive up your stock if you want to play in the NFL someday.
Brady Hoke told him about how being at Michigan makes you instantly great without working hard or achieving anything.

I think he was the best back in the country that year. I'd take him over any back that class. Including Derrick Green and Derrick Henry(Alabama)

It doesn't matter who the RB is if the O line sucks. ScUM has a god awful O line, any RB will need a lot of meds to make it through the season

If this is really about being close to Mom then Northwestern and Illinois are the choices. AA is at least 4 hours from Joliet which has to be twice as much either Evanston or Champaign. South Bend is closer too so it be interesting to see if the restrictions USC placed on him stick.

Brady Hoke looks forward to squandering another very talented player with his horrible motivational skills, horrendous team discipline, laughable player development, and amateur game day preparation.

Good luck, Mr. Isaac.
