The amounts of false optimism for 2020 that would be generated by beating a Alabama team with a meh defense and with fucking Mac Jones at QB would be astonishing

Anyone else finding it a harder and harder to listen to Sam on these close recruiting battles?
I know his livelihood depends on it, but...geesh!
I've gotten to the point that if he doesn't offer up his "gut feel", I simply tune out the other narratives (I just don't put a lot of stock in his other "fluff")...

Not a lot of optimism from dfbia. They're really broken.
https://mgoblog.com/mgoboard/new-2020-qb-prospect-visiting-weekendAfter “battling” head-to-head with Ohio State (and others) for C.J. Stroud and hosting him on an official visit this past weekend, Andrew Ellis is reporting Michigan has immediately moved on to this guy.

An unranked player with offers from Massachusetts, Fordham, Albany, Buffalo, Central Connecticut State, and Kent State.
The QB whisperer continues to crush it.

Uh oh, not only could this kid be a great starting QB, he’s even better because he’s a threat at multiple positions!https://mgoblog.com/mgoboard/new-2020-qb-prospect-visiting-weekend
Michigan faithful taking the dual approach of 1. Convincing themselves that he’s good and looks like someone that “deserves to be ranked” (), or 2. convincing themselves he is being recruited as a tight end.
They currently don’t have a QB in the 2020 class following the medical retirement of this guy.

It’s fascinating layers of delusion. Deep down they kinda get that it is extremely unlikely this kid is even a MAC level talent at QB so they also have to be delusional about his potential at other positions, because why recruit straight up elite players when you can recruit complete unknowns at different positions and transition them? But then also back to the original delusion about not discounting the sub-MAC level talent being a contributor at QB.Blue Middle

That's a worst-case scenario. He's perfect for this class: could turn into a great QB, but seems like his floor is as a TE or even a wildcat QB. He's quick enough, strong enough, and fast enough to be a threat in D1 football at multiple positions. Love his confidence, contact courage, and athleticism.
But let's discount the possibility he can grow into a starting QB either. He's got tools and some kids just pop late.
so if he's not a QB he could also be a TE or a... QB?He's perfect for this class: could turn into a great QB, but seems like his floor is as a TE or even a wildcat QB.
The recent QB recruit from New Mexico that became a TE worked out - I happily remember a couple of Zach Gentry's drops in the 62-39 beatdown last year.so if he's not a QB he could also be a TE or a... QB?
