The hilarious thing about this is Justin Fields had a 3.9 GPA, 29 ACT score, and scholarship offers from Duke, Northwestern, Virginia, Harvard, and Yale.

I'd lay a bennie that Justin's transcripts out of high school were stronger than Brian's.

Brian: I bet that's because all he did was study in high school. You can't be good at sports AND be a good student.

J/k, we all know Brian would just say his teachers let him cheat.

Fitz made that crystal clear in the leadup to their matchup this year, then jokingly got mad that all of the big schools ended their pursuit. He was a perfect NW student athlete who simply outgrew their level of prestige.

...and 95% of their current football roster.

The funniest thing of all of this is that the Ministry of Excuses has been on the side of paying the athletes. If a kid's long-term future appears to be football, and he's following the rules that are laid out with regard to coursework, why criticize him? If he thinks the coursework any of their players are taking to receive their general studies or kinesiology degrees are any more challenging than what Fields is taking, he's a dumb asshole.

The DT's don't exist.....it's not that they lack "focus" they literally have no true DTs, just DEs they shift inside to try to play DT. That's 100% on Hairball and his staff for completely ignoring that position in recruiting.....but of course nothing is ever dear leader's fault.
Just wait till Brian turns on dear leader. The before/after on rich rod was amazing, he was a bit more skeptical of hoke, but still defended him on the rapist kicker. Then he decided hoke needed to go and started blasting every little thing hoke did. He still has the article he wrote when hairball was at stanford and pointed out the sham that is tsun's academic superiority, yet now hairball is the best and does everything right and moral. Even if they still steer all the football players to general studies and kinesology. He probably is only sticking up for jimmy cause he can't think of an alternative. In summary, fuck that hypocritical two faced jackass.

Alright, people, I very clearly remember at the last meeting, we all agreed not to admit this to outsiders. Which one of you assholes let the cat out of the bag, in this conversation that definitely, really happened?

Pretty hilarious actually. I can believe that he had this conversation. If I had been there, and some douche from Ux was asking me those types of questions, I would be more than happy to troll him and agree that it goes on. Even throw in about some friendly coed coercion to get recruits to attend as a bonus.

As Buckeye Planet’s SECRETARY OF STATing the Obvious it is my duty to point out that this scUM bag is literally so stupid that he finds it believable that a person who sits in the stands at the game would have inside knowledge of such transactions. This applies whether he made this up himself or he was being trolled.

DFBIA gonna DFBIA

I just noticed that Kemp made 3rd team all-b1g, the same as Davon Hamilton. Ok :roll1:

Just don't tell them about our pregame satanic worship rituals. If they knew how many newborn babies we sacrificed in the locker room before each game to guarantee victory they'd really be mad at us.
And nobody here should breathe a word of the undetectable designer PEDs that were developed over in the med school. Outsiders actually believe that the James is all about cancer. Almost nobody knows about the 12 underground floors beneath that building and the secret research that goes on there.

[Brian at Mgoblog] still has the article he wrote when hairball was at stanford and pointed out the sham that is tsun's academic superiority...
That's a good article. I liked this part.

I find the lazy, stupid athlete stereotype irritating, and always have. Is intelligence a simple vector that you have or do not? I have always been very, very "smart"...

Sometimes a single "very" just isn't enough.

While the ego of your average scUM football fan is ever-expansive, it's an inch deep and a mile wide and it's brittle. That ego is broken, so to build themselves back up, they have to put someone else down just to prop it up again.

Kinda like the school yard bully who was bigger/stronger/meaner than everyone at 8 years old, tried to do the same when everyone caught up to him at 12, failed, and returned to trying to beat up 8 year olds.

I've been thinking it'll be a lot like when the domers finally realized that Fat Bastard had conned the fuck out of them.

Pretty sure it's been posted here, but I'm certain that tsun's recruiting budget far surpasses ours. We actually spend on the low end for a premier program. Also, while their overall revenue trails us, their AD is more profitable due to funding far fewer sports. They absolutely have the resources to compete with us and are spending the money to try and do so. They're just failing. Resources and spending is not a legit excuse for not being competitive.

I didn't dispute they spend and have more money than us. There's more to 'resources' (Valentis word) than cash on hand or cash spent.

We don't need to spend because...
a. We have a solid talent base at home. That itself is a resource. You can't buy the value of having great in-State talent, and being The flagship school in that state.
b. The school has successfully leaned on that talent base - for decades - to build a stellar reputation both in terms of CFB consistency and sending kids to the NFL.
Fitz made that crystal clear in the leadup to their matchup this year, then jokingly got mad that all of the big schools ended their pursuit. He was a perfect NW student athlete who simply outgrew their level of prestige.

For posterity:
"We recruited Justin," Fitzgerald said at his press conference on Monday. "I mean he's a rockstar person. We were blown away with him out of high school. Then all of a sudden, recruiting, you guys gave him too many stars. You know, it would have been great if you kept him where he was when we were recruiting him (laughs).

A gloriously fun topic to debate. I think it's this board solemn duty as scholars and gentlemen to engage on this topic and try to offer a clear summary for future generations.
