The most awesome part of this post is that in the last 30 years they are 12-18 vs OSU. THAT INCLUDES COOPER'S 2-11-1!!!!!!
Players in their sophomore year in high school, assuming the were born on or after Nov 23, 2003, have been alive for one--count 'um, one--scUM win in The Game.

The Streak is having the desired effect at the grass roots level.

One of the engineers that was recently transferred to my division is from a Birmingham, Alabama family. He doesn’t like college football anymore because he got a BS and an MS from TSUN and they didn’t beat Ohio State the whole time he was there.

Doesn't he realize they just beat Notre Dame??!!

I don’t want it to get overlooked that Ed Warinner straight up bailed on PJ Fleck after a season for the same position, if not greener pastures, at Michigan, most likely in an effort to “get back” at Ohio State, and in the process confirmed he is a traitorous asshole.

Today, Minnesota is an unbeaten, 13th ranked football team, while Warinner and his cronies at Michigan sit with 2 losses tied for 3rd place in the Big 10 East with Indiana.

Never forget.

So, let's take a look at how teams are "hitting their stride"

Offense production against Turtle:

First Downs
Ohio State 40
scUM 16

Rushing
Ohio State 56 for 383 6.8/carry
scUM 34 for 155 4.6/carry

Passing
Ohio State 26 of 38 for 322 no picks
scUM 16 of 29 for 176 no picks

Total Offense:
Ohio State 705 yards and 73 points
scUM 331 yards and 38 points

You will note that Ohio State essentially doubled scUM's production against Turtle (and if Dewand Jones doesn't get flagged for holding, Ohio State scores 80) Likewise, Ohio State played half of the game without their starters.

Defensive production against Turtle:

First Downs
Ohio State 16
scUM 16

Rushing
Ohio State 32 for 62 1.9/carry
scUM 46 129 2.8/carry

Passing
Ohio State 8 of 17 for 77 INT
scUM 10 of 22 for 104 INT

Total Defense
Ohio State 139 yard 14 points
scUM 233 yards 7 points

You will note Dr. Blitz's side of the ball compares better than does Harbrau's 'speed in sp...' err... football in a phone booth. However, as above, Ohio State played no starters in the entire second half and both TDs given up were garbage time. True, scUM's defense actually shut MD out (they gave up a KO return for the score), but it's also true that one of MD's scores was set up by a nice KO Return to the OSU 20ish and the other was helped out enormously by the officials/sloppy play of back ups.

With Ryan Day's mentality (he did it again yesterday, up 42 and with less than 1 minute on the clock, he used each of his three time outs to make MD punt, and then went after the punter, and it was damn near blocked... motherfucker is ruthless) scUM might actually be praying for the days when it was just Woody going for 2 when he couldn't go for three.

see my post about getting extra possessions in the 2019 team thread.

It's kind of like moneyball. Day understands the OPS of college football. Possessions per game.

You can really see why schools cheat. It doesn't matter. The NCAA doesn't do anything unless you roll over and take it (see: Michigan stretchgate). There are no consequences so OF COURSE it keeps happening. Hopefully the world of getting paid for your likeness will level the playing field for us a bit

Not counting warm up time to get around ncaa practice time limits is no big deal. But borrowing some money to fly your gf out to your bowl game should be a prison sentence. Seems to me one of these is intended to give a competitive advantage to the team, can't decide which it is.

I'm scared to ask what that guy's profile picture is supposed to be.
Also, Fab Five.

My favorite is this guy, who says that it's time for College Football as it is now to end.

Time to abolish college sports (hoop and football) as currently constructed. Hoop with 1 and done is an absolute joke! Let the NBA and NFL develop minor leagues similar to baseball. Want to get paid out of HS, here you go, play in the minors and develop your craft before going to "big" league. If elect to enter college, have to wait 3 years before you can get drafted.
