Which brings up a fascinating point.

Is there any scUM player currently who would start for Ohio State? I cant think of any?

Hell any of their starters would be fighting to even crack the 2 deep of our current roster.

A quick glance of their roster and not one stands out.

Setting aside the fundamental personality flaw of chosing ttun, there's a couple of kids that, talent-wise, I could see as useful rotational pieces...
QB - LOL
RB - I actually think Charbonnet is pretty talented. That said, he's already missed most of his first spring with a knee injury that has flared up again 2 games into his career. Might be an injury-plagued career.
WR - Nico Collins is talented. Peoples-Jones and Black to a lesser extent and I could see Ronnie Bell being useful in the slot. Could I see them overtaking any of our guys? Probably not.
OL - LOL
DL - Hutchinson looks like he could be a player, but wouldn't take him over any of our guys. The rest? LOL
LB - LOL
DB - Khaleke Hudson, maybe? He's a hybrid LB/S type. Wouldn't take him over any of our guys though.
ST - their punter is pretty good. But so is ours.

So, yeah, maybe a handful of guys could play here? I posted a quick breakdown of their recruiting yesterday, and we're outpacing them for 5* and top-100 kids at a 3-1 clip since harbrau took over. The talent gap is already huge and it's getting bigger every year.

Can anyone tell me of a coach who turned a program around after the five year mark? I guess Mack Brown if you consider Texas' run started in 2004. Nobody else comes to mind. The statement season always happens in the first three years.

The only name that came to mind was Bill Snyder but when he showed up at K State it was a much different era too....

If mocking and making fun is obsessing then damn right i'm obsessed.
obsessed is their last fallback option. once they have nothing else, they just call you obsessed for enjoying beating their asses. I'm with you.......get me a nametag and write Obsessed on it if that's the case.

Off the top of my head I can only think of two. Schiano's break through year at Rutgers was in Year 6, and Frank Beamer at Va Tech was in Year 7.

Does Coop count?

4-6-1, 8-4, 7-4-1, 8-4, 8-3-1, 10-1-1

So...Mack Brown, Greg Schiano, Frank Beamer, John Cooper, and Bill Snyder.

By my count that's 128 combined years head coaching and 1 national title. I'm gonna have to agree with @ORD_Buckeye that the odds of a run of titles seems unlikely.

They're not going to turn this around. If Simple Jim was the answer, it already would have happened. The chance that it will somehow happen in year six is nil. Based on their predictions when he was hired, they should be sitting on a national championship and two or three B1G titles right now. Instead, they're hoping to make a statement against Rutgers to turn their season around. These are not worthy adversaries, Dude.
Hence the "you are your record says you are".

This is a great question. If you’re talking starters only, then I guess Hudson for Borland? I would take Browning over both, so I guess it’s a moot point.

Anywho, here’s a 2-deep of combined rosters if we had a game tomorrow:

QB - Fields and Patterson
RB - Dobbins and Teague
WR - Hill, Olave, Victor, Mack, Wilson, and Bell
OL - literally give me OSU’s 2 deep, maybe substitute Onwenu for Matt Jones
TE - Farrell and Ruckert
DE - Young, Cornell, Hutchinson, Friday
DT - Garrett, Togiai, Hamilton, Landers
LB - Harrison, Werner, Browning, Borland, Hudson, White
S - Fuller, Proctor, Hawkins
CB - Okudah, Arnette, Wade, Hill

I count 36 Buckeyes and 6 Wolverines. Holy shit their roster sucks

Maybe if they paid as much attention to how shitty their coaching staff is as we do it would light a fire under their $9.5 million failure of a head coach to do better.

Hutchinson makes the list only because Tyreke Smith is injured and couldn't play tomorrow. So 37 Buckeyes and 5 Wolverines.

But you forgot to add fullbacks. Jimmy's definitely got us beat there (we don't have any fullbacks on our roster).
