The evolution from “Harbaugh will hand pick any top recruits” to “Recruiting rankings don’t matter those are Harbaugh guys he knows talent” to now entering the stage where some of them are starting to realize what a sham he is and top kids just don’t want to play for him is pretty damn hilarious

They’ll never admit good players won’t play for him. Their baseline is SAT scores and the players we get are just dummies that couldn’t pass their rigorous admissions standards. Or they don’t use bagmen, like we do.

Remember, Michigan is always better than everyone else at everything, except for when they’re not, only because they’re better than everyone else at some other thing.

Can anyone tell me of a coach who turned a program around after the five year mark? I guess Mack Brown if you consider Texas' run started in 2004. Nobody else comes to mind. The statement season always happens in the first three years.

Opppps, didn’t see the “after five years” before making my list. It took Ara three years to get Northwestern going. Still had fun remembering coaches who did turn programs around.
Ara Parseghian (sic) did it twice - first at Northwestern - turning them from the absolute doormats of the Big 10 into a nationally ranked team, then did the same thing at ND, a team that had had five consecutive down years before he arrived. Lou Holtz turned ND around also. Dontanio at MSU. Bo Rein might have done it at LSU had his life not been cut short. Francis Schmidt certainly turned around the Buckeyes in his first five years, at least in terms of beating Michigan - then he promptly turned around and lost the next five. Art Briles took Baylor from doormat to ass kicker - course you wouldn't want to look in his closet. Not sure about Daryl Royal - I think Texas had had some pretty lean years before he came on the scene. What about Bear Bryant at Kentucky? Saben at LSU and Alabama?

They are even better at using bagmen. Ed Martin is one of the all time greats. It's amazing how the whole Fab Five payment scheme is no longer part of their past when they talk about other teams paying players. They have one of the biggest scandals in the history of NCAA sports.

I have no idea how "real" these supposed rumors are, but they sure make for great reading:

they're worried about DPJ coming here? Uhh.....check the roster and the recruiting class. You got more to worry about than one of your 5 stars who didn't pan out.

My thoughts exactly. Don't need him; don't want him.

I don't know if this https://saturdaytradition.com/michi...o-wisconsin-were-looking-to-make-a-statement/
was posted last week or not. In hindsight, I wish they would have pressed him a little harder to see exactly what kind of statement he was thinking......
