scUM enters it's 14th season since it last won/shared a B1G title (2004 with Iowa). Their 13 straight seasons without at least a share of the conference title is tied for their longest title drought (1951-1963).

Since then, Ohio State won eight conference titles (counting the "vacated" 2010 title), including six straight from 2005-2010. Oh yeah, and a national title.

Michigan will finish fourth in the Big Ten East
Shea Patterson is the latest savior. He will be the latest savior not to yield big wins. This isn't so much a knock on the Wolverines as it is statement on the challenges they face. Fully prepared to hear about this one the rest of my natural life.

Go back to 2004 - when Xichigan just won or shared 3 of the last 4 conference championships - and tell yourself that Xichigan would have just as many Big Ten Conference championship game APPEARANCES as Rutgers, Maryland, Minnesota, Illinois, Indiana, Purdue, and Northwestern. Would you believe yourself?

I would have slapped myself for being an idiot by bringing Rutgers and Maryland into a conversation about Big Ten championships…

…in 2004:cool:
