And burn the helmet after the first game without a hit.
Finally...some reason. It seems like they're the flavor of the preseason, with what seems to be a consensus top 5 ranking. I, for the life of me, cannot figure out why most are so high on them.http://espn.go.com/blog/bigten/post...tball-roundtable-overrated-playoff-contenders

Big Ten: Michigan
There’s no question Jim Harbaugh has revitalized his alma mater and shaken up the national landscape, and the hype is certainly building for his second season at Michigan. But there is still uncertainty lingering at the most important position on the field, even with Wilton Speight taking the lead in the quarterback derby. And the program’s biggest rivals have home-field advantage when they play the Wolverines: If they can manage to exact revenge on Michigan State in late October, there’s still a huge test looming a month later at Ohio State in a series hasn’t been kind to the Wolverines lately. The early lines already have the Buckeyes favored in The Game, thanks in part to Urban Meyer’s head start in stockpiling talent, so it seems premature to tab Michigan for one of those four coveted playoff spots. -- Austin Ward

I thought the same thing.I like how that writer mentions Speight taking the lead as though it's a good thing.

Last time I checked Kyle Kalis is still one of their five best offensive linemen as well.Harbaugh can coach up QBs, and Rudock certainly played above his ability last year, but he arrived as a smart, reliable qb. Limited? Sure. game manager? Definitely. That said, he was viewed as a safe, steady qb to solidify a terrible qb depth chart and allow michigan to win with defense and enough offense. Now he had some early stinkers but overall there was plenty of reason for preseason optimism about adequate to decent qb play.
Speight has been pretty brutal at times (in the limited viewings we've had) and has none of the upside of OKorn or Morris. I can't imagine why we are betting on that position being reliable. Maybe when speight is benched or beaten out by okorn?
There still is no running game, other than spring game rumbles against no defenders or qb scrambles when no one is looking.
