ttun Shenanigans and Arguments (2015 official thread)

self reported 4 violations, which everyone does so they don't get in trouble.

Of everything that's gone down in the past week, I think kicking Dennis Norfleet off the team today is probably the most noteworthy. While he was mainly known for dancing on the field before returning punts, he at least held on to the ball and didn't fumble them.

Dismissed today for skipping finals or something.

What NCAA violations?
Per freep:

The violations, all reported April 13, were improperly discussing a recruit before he had been admitted, providing a helmet and jersey for a fundraiser to benefit a high school scholarship fund, sharing recruiting materials through social media, and allowing a recruit to sit in premium seating at a campus hockey game.

I seem to remember that one of the first things that Urban Meyer did was report a bunch of minor infractions. Some or most or all happened before Meyer came in. Really dumb stuff. I think Vrabel was seen chewing tobacco on the sidelines, which is a tobacco-free area. A recruit texted a coach something like "where do I go to get my tickets?" and the coach responded, which was illegal contact, or something. Maybe another was that some assistant made some bracelets and gave them to some players, but when he thought they might be impermissible benefits, he charged the players whatever it cost to make the bracelets. However, since it was not an item that was available to the general student population, that was illegal. Plus, I think that Kirk Herbstreit lowered his ranking of Ohio State after they beat Arkansas, because Wisconsin lost to TCU, and since Wisconsin beat Ohio State, Ohio State shouldn't be ranked above Wisconsin. The NCAA considers that a minor infraction.

I thought this statement was interesting considering some of the shit that self righteous fan base proceeds to dish out about Jamel Dean and others.

This does get Michigan to 85 scholarships, give or take a walk-on. With a couple of medical hardships likely to be on the way, there should be room to add a fifth-year WR or two, as Mike Spath has suggested might happen.

Norfleet may have been one of the most unproductive/inefficient players in CFB history. In 145 touches, spanning three years, he never managed to score a single touchdown. That is exceptionally bad. At least he liked to dance and taunt.
