etcEven if they are intentionally punting '15 (they aren't) what's to stop them from using that time to get a jump start on '16 and '17 classes?

It is pretty glorious watching their expectations get crushed so soon after they made their dream coaching hire.Yeah, this is the funniest part. The scUM fanbase, by and large, thought recruits would be beating down the door to play for The Harbrau™. That most certainly isn't happening. And when compared to what Urban was able to pull off his first couple of weeks in 2011-12, it's pretty pathetic. Maybe they are choosing to largely punt on the 2015 class, but if The Harbrau™ is going to be this unstoppable recruiting machine they think he's gonna be, that wouldn't be necessary.
The best part is that all of the bluster about The Harbrau™ hire was largely snuffed out by Urban and his boys winning a National Title right afterward. Just like he stomped on the party about winning The Game for the first time in 8 years with his hire, Urban peed all over this little scUM party too.
Actually, it sounds like Mattison's remark was ill advised AND the Father is a dumbass. Here is the actual quote from the father. If Mattison was making an economic remark, that's downright insane.
"They made one bad statement," Hoskins said of the Monday visit with Mattison, "and it ruined them. They said without football, Daishon wouldn't be able to go to Michigan -- like we couldn't afford to send him there or we couldn't get him [academically eligible].
Where do you get your recruiting info? He's not a 4 star recruit according to 247, Rivals, Scout, or ESPN.........Just curious
I don't want to defend a Ohio Wolverine fan but every site I saw had him as a 3* a while ago. When this story popped on my FB is the first time I recall seeing him listed as a 4*. I may be off and will take my flaming if so.My fault--since he's only a 3*, Michigan didn't want him anyway, right? Funny how the crowing about how Neal "dropped two big-time schools from consideration" turned to "he's not a 4 star" once Michigan was sent packing...
A recruiting visit is a sales call.I get being upset by that, but if a kid doesn't have the grades or test scores to get into Michigan outside of football, that's not calling him dumb, that is stating a fact.
No, you just shut your full mouth. The kid's a football player. Whether or not he can get into tsun, or any other school, without football is totally irrelevant. It's rude. True? Certainly. Polite to say to somebody you're trying to woo to your program in front of his family/friends? Absolutely not. Like it or not, I'm sure simple manners can play a big part in attracting kids to your program.

Maybe Mattison is really pissed about the hokester being fired and then being demoted from dc, and this is his revenge. He's intentionally sabotaging their recruiting.

He was already employed by scUM. He joined when Hoke was hired in Jan 2011.IIRC Mattison was a hire Urban would have liked to have made, but the coach had already committed to Michigan. T or F?
