Do they ever go the MAC route and whine about how they "found him first"....and other schools just wait to pounce once they offer?
Funnily enough, I don’t think that happens very often.

While smart MAC schools are jumping in early on 2023 talent right now that P5 schools might identify and recruit later, Michigan is still desperately throwing around camp offers in the 2022 class. Unless something goes very badly and B and C options are needed, it is unlikely Michigan will face much competition at all as they ‘battle’ the second and third tier schools for these players.

As has been pointed out, it really feels like their recruiting strategy is to identify guys they don’t have to try hard to earn commitments from as by far the best offers available for the players they target.

I’m sure they justify it as some sort of focus on “character.”

That is, of course, unless they can get the dad to make the decision (Will Johnson), hire the dad as a coach to force the decision (Donovan Edwards), or hire the players coach (Peppers, Gary). They also might put in a little effort if the player has grandparents living in the area and they don’t have to work as hard to get a visit (Walter Nolen).

Long story short, they suck and it’s funny. Competent MAC schools clearly have better scouting and strategy when it comes to recruiting.

Can we get a O/U on eventual transfers from this class for them? I bet the number will be staggering.

And of course when they transfer DFBIA will claim players they hyped up we’re “just place holders” and didn’t matter anyway.

Hemingway himself would be proud of how few words you really need to tell this particular story.
As we ponder the travails of the lives of these young men, many of whom are undecided as of now, but are likely to pass through a number of tortuous and circular pathways between this present time and the dates on which the important decisions must be made, I am reminded that not all is a transparent and open book, but oftentimes the truth is hidden behind an opaque window that looks into the future, not mind you, a purposeful deception intended to throw the hound off the scent, but rather just an artifact of the human condition, especially of young people whose minds are not fully developed to adulthood, and many of which are to some degree affected and controlled by other well intentioned, although not always, individuals who seek to hold onto what is best and proper for the subject at the center of the discussion, and therefore, we must wait and not speculate as to final outcome, although that may not fit our best laid plans and our desired aftereffect, and that the interested parties of that horrible and overrated institute of higher learning in the northerly direction, may haps need to admit and affirm that they do, and have, and will, suck.

Hilarious article with a weird point that he concludes stars don’t matter but then says they’ll get more 4 and 5 stars, but the staff is too new.

 there is some top tier delusion going on there

The next page - https://gbmwolverine.com/2021/06/27/michigan-football-predicting-the-rest-of-wolverines-2022-class/

He has Walter Nolen penciled in
Keon Sabb as "50/50"
Oscar Delp in even though he has been tending away from scUM for awhile now

I'm curious as to these camp offers. I wonder about the level of recruit that was working out at the camps. Was it a case of guys looking good in comparison to mid-level/mediocre recruits, or were these camp offers just off the charts better than other solid prospects making it a no brainer offer.

My thoughts are it's like the end of the night at the bar when the 4 becomes an 8 when compared to the 2's....

The difference between the 3* Bama/Ohio State/Clemson gets and the 3* Michigan gets are obvious

the 3 mentioned usually get ones that everyone ends up catching on to. Michigan most of the time is battling low level P5 and MAC team for a good chunk of their 3*

Remember all that DFBIA hype for Jordan Phillips, the vastly underrated 3* DT from Florida who was CB'ed to TTUN?

View attachment 29389

Well, that was then, this is now....

View attachment 29390

Waiting for the inevitable excuses from DFBIA....

Overrated, coaches liked someone else better, couldn't handle the academics, online classes, bagmen, $EC....

4* OT Lucas Heyer, who was once considering a Michigan lean, just committed to Stanford.

Another FL 3* they were high on, LB Micah Pollard is now trending away from them to Auburn

Mob Moves?

What you're basically saying is that OSU's staff is better at scouting AND developing talent. Because former 3star Chris Olave and former 3star Ronnie Bell are not the same!
