That's cheating, though. My method is to check if Warriner offered him early. If so, he's probably not great. Most fans can project High School OL talent better than Ed Warinner. Most Ohio State fans, at any rate.
...It’s time for a game of “guess who’s being a troll and who’s being genuinely DFBIA.”

Again, it doesn’t take that much work to check Warinner’s record with three stars at Ohio State, the program that has run circles around you in general but specifically in player development for two decades... it wasn’t great.
So..."champions of life"?Stop worrying about stars. This kid will be fine. He will develop into a great person whether it's through football or academics. Both should be equally important.
I challenge you to identify a "strategy."
Timothy Gardner (Class of 2013; #50 OT, #652 overall) - Arrested preseason 2013; prep school for a year; enroled at Indiana; transferred to Alcorn State.Again, it doesn’t take that much work to check Warinner’s record with three stars at Ohio State ... it wasn’t great.
Good lord those were some blasts from the past. And all of them were guys who when they committed/signed we all pretty much knew wouldn't amount to much other than depth at best. All enormous guys who could over power in HS but had no technique or fundamentals and we see what they became. Not a knock on the kids personally but on their games.Timothy Gardner (Class of 2013; #50 OT, #652 overall) - Arrested preseason 2013; prep school for a year; enlisted at Indiana; transferred to Alcorn State.
Brady Taylor (Class of 2014; #55 OT, #584 overall) - 31 games played, but zero starts in five seasons; local kid who set a good example off the field
Marcelys Jones (Class of 2014; #21 OG, #400 overall) - one year at Ohio State (one game played), then Kentucky, Alcorn State, Winston-Salem State, and finally Urbana
Branden Bowen - (Class of 2015; #61 OT, #543 overall) - the best of the Warinner reaches, made 19 starts, was named 2nd team All Big Ten as senior; UDFA
Kevin Feder (Class of 2015; #56 OT, #507 overall) - three years at Ohio State, zero snaps; transferred to Kansas where he made 15 starts in two seasons
Grant Schmidt (Class of 2015; #51 OT, #469 overall) - redshirt year at Ohio State, transferred to Cincinnati for a year (no snaps), then to South Dakota State (3 games)
Mirko Jurkovic, Jr. (Class of 2015; #53 OG, #832 overall) - failed to qualify academically; signed with Georgia, medically disqualified (bad knees) after one year
Jack Wohlabugh (Class of 2016; #20 OG, #437 overall) - two years at Ohio State, zero snaps; transferred to Duke, three-year starter and team captain
Gavin Cupp (Class of 2016; #42 OT, #413 overall) - in his fifth season at Ohio State, 15 games played, zero starts; 4-time Academic All Big Ten, which means something
So, Bowen was a pretty decent player at Ohio State - about the best you can hope for from a three-star reach - and the other eight were total busts (combined 47 games played with zero starts). Wohlabaugh has been a pretty solid player at Duke, but he never would've started at Ohio State over kids like Michael Jordan and Josh Myers. Feder had some limited success at Kansas, but again was never going to do anything in Columbus. Taylor and Cupp were local kids who were in over their heads, but they were good soldiers. Gardner, Schmidt, and Jones, never found a home anywhere despite multiple transfers each. Jurkovic was a hard luck story.
I guess you really could consider a recruiting win over Northwestern and Indiana this year as a :big win" for scUM considering how the season went for all teams.
