Michigan Set to Repeat Bryce Underwood’s NIL Blueprint to Land Another Elite 5-Star Recruit

Michigan knows how to play with money! Why else would the nation’s top players commit to a program with a National Champion tag that fell 7-5 this season? Well, at least Sherrone Moore was able to lead the Wolverines to the bowl games in his first year despite a huge roster transition. That’s enough promise that the program can transform with a strong football roster. No wonder Michigan offered Bryce Underwood a multi-million dollar NIL package that may have topped $10 million in total. The result?

Underwood flipped from LSU to Michigan. But it seems more good news could be on the horizon for them. 5-star OT Ty Haywood made an announcement that could fall in the favor of Moore and the Wolverines.

He has been committed to Alabama since July 14 but will not sign next week during the Early Signing Period as the Michigan Wolverines have been trying to recruit him and they want to get him to Ann Arbor for a visit. “Haywood is a big Alabama fan. His mother is too. Michigan is pushing hard, the Haywood’s are listening, so we are watching closely to see if they visit,” On3’s Chad Simmons wrote in November. But what did Haywood have to say?

“I have always had an interest in Michigan, so it’s not like it came out of nowhere. I would say yeah they just backed out when I committed before coming back in,” Haywood told Simmons in November.

SCUM recruiting is looking more like Texas A&M by the day. Paying players who are only there because of the money can seriously backfire. They will have to start the 2 five stars next year. These kids are not going to ride the bench.

Again the key is finding kids who like your program and putting the money towards them.

Babashola or whatever his name is works better for them. He chose Scum for the right reason. That is why OSU should open up the check book for Sanders.

This will be interesting to follow, because scUM fans and staff believe he's their savior, but he will still only be a true frosh. Learning how to read defenses, playing defenses that are much faster, bigger and stronger than what he played against in HS.
2 things..... the kid is only there for the money, and he didn't want to compete in the Elite 11 to protect his value. Red flags galore....
.
Honestly, I always question the competition in the state of Xichigan.

It'll be interesting to see how the DFBIA pivot if this kid isn't all conference and lighting up scoreboards in year 1. There is quite the learning curve from HS to college, Idc what ranking you are. OSU has a former 5star and #1 QB on the roster, and he was the 3rd string this year. Several years ago a 5star and Elite 11 winner in CJ Stroud didn't see the field until year 3. Justin Fields was a 5star who had to transfer to see PT, and still had a learning curve after leaving UGA for OSU. There are very few Trevor Lawrences and Tuas out there. And those 2 played football in more temperate climates than being the state up north. Welp
