When your 2 highest rated defensive players are favored to flip to UK
They were shrugging the Rudolph loss as him being "scared of the competition" of their other EDGE commits.
Once Smith decommits they are left with the #29 and #34 rated EDGEs in the composite. Big competition.

Doubling down on the "we had too many DL anyway" excuses. Maybe that would work if it were the lower rated guys jumping ship, but they are losing their top guys
Comically saying "it doesn't matter we can just rely on the transfer portal". Living and dying by the transfer portal is definitely not the way to go. But let them have at it.

Bias aside, he is receiving plenty of similar critique from neutral analysts and there is a reason his ranking went down a decent clip. Ohio State plays chess, not checkers at QB recruiting.

LSU and Penn State are right on their tails as well. They will be out of the top 10 soon. Having 27 commits' is the only thing keeping them there.
Going by average recruit ranking they are 17th. They are much closer to Arkansas, Ole Miss & Wisconsin than Georgia, Bama & Ohio State
