ttun recruiting (all classes)

A four-star linebacker from Buford (Ga.), Mantrez Walker pledged to the maize and blue back in February and has been constantly in the ears of other recruits who are considering Michigan football. However, he may not exactly be solid when it comes to heading north.

Walker to to X, former known as Twitter, to express that if any other schools want to come calling, his ‘recruitment is open’ and he’s ‘not 100% shut down.’ Thus, calling him committed isn’t exactly truth in this scenario.

Same question I ask some of our own when they start the "just a flesh wound/fall back guys are just as good" stuff: Then why did the staff prioritize the guy they missed on?

If fall back guy is just as good, why not save the recruiting resources and NIL money, get the lower rated guy quick and focus elsewhere? Its a rhetorical question. They prioritized the higher rated kid because they know he's better. Fall backs are fall backs. You may get lucky and hit a home run with one but he was still a fall back after you missed on the kid you wanted more.

Exactly. Our fall back guys tend to be better than scUMs. But in the end they are still fall back guys for a reason. They aren't taking a Joshua Mickens over a Damon Wilson type because that was the "real" plan all along

Another one they thought they had in the bag is now trending away

Not shocking though that a upper level WR would choose not to go there.

Good, I would hate for an Idaho kid to end up there. I have watched Blair's film and he is seriously talented with blazing speed...like seriously probably the fastest player in nation. Ran a 10.15 100m dash this spring. Unfortunately the last I heard was that Bama was in a good position, I am hoping he stays west.

Hell we still have room. Might as well nab a blazing fast kick returner while we're at it.

I would LOVE to have him in Columbus, I'm of the opinion he's such a great playmaker that you make room for him. But I don't think we're even talking to him, so I'm rooting for him to stay out west. Crazy think is that he is from a very small rural Idaho town that you would never expect to produce a player this good, so it's cool to see...as long as he doesn't pick ttun.

Can he do flips?

Do we know he’s good considering the competition? I’m sure he’s fast, because that translates pretty directly, but there are a few other things that are important that I doubt are being exposed or tested in his current environment.

Probably picks Boise State to stay close to home. Plus he is probably going on a mission so he may not play until 2025-2026.

I keep hearing that but it's tough to tell if it's local optimism from the people I talk to. I would love to see it happen, but I think he picks a bigger school ultimately. Then again, if he does do the mission, BSU is likely the pick.
