ttun recruiting (all classes)

I think the biggest issue with him, is still weighing around 200ishlbs going into his senior year, at 6'4'! He either hasn't been putting in work in the weight room, or he has some incredibly fast metabolism and its hard to put on weight. But he can't play DL at any G5 school, let alone a high end P5 program at that weight.

Yea he's going to take some major beefing up, if not then MAYBE he can morph into a ok very situational pass rusher, but he's nowhere near ready physically to be even a semi-regular on the field at a G5 school.

I take back all the bad things I’ve ever said about Kentucky and their recruiting tactics as they look to be surging ahead of TSUN for Brian Robinson and Terhyon Nichols (based on recent insider predictions).

TSUN is taking all kinds of hits lately

West and Scott likely both to Ohio State after they had high hopes of getting at least 1

Robinson & Nichols both trending away

And now, They were really expecting to get 4* OL Michael Uini (like they thought he was a lock last week)

But now crystal balls are flowing in for UGA

Usually I want the B1G schools to win any recruiting battle against the SEC, but ttun is the one exception to that rule. Would love to see UK steal both away (presuming we land Scott and Lockhart of course).

The way the Michigan sunshine blowers talk, if you didn't know any better, you'd think they were assembling one of the greatest recruiting classes of all times.

I expect they will finish in the 10th-12th range when thing's are all settled for the 2024 class. Once the SEC schools (Including Texas & Oklahoma) start catching up in #s they will pass them and Michigan will drop hard.

Exactly, number of commitments is bolstering their ranking currently. That will change. Even if you look at the 247 rankings that accounts for commitment inflation, Ohio State is #2 and ttun is #4. There will be plenty of teams to pass ttun and I would wholeheartedly agree they end up in the #10-15 range after it is all said and done.

Side note - ttun has 24 commits currently, yet I see all these prospects they are supposedly in on and with zero CBs as mentioned in Scott's thread. Unless they are ready to cut bait on some of the sea of 3* commits for someone else, I am wondering how they make those numbers work unless they just have a ton of room.

They’re also currently still 10 over the scholarship limit on the current roster heading into the fall. Apparently Biff Poggi was also in charge of handling simple math for Harbaugh.

Without looking it up, I believe their former director of player personnel recently went to Ole Miss, and the new person seems to be a big fan of numbers. They’re offering a ton of players, 300+ and nearly twice as many as Ohio State in this cycle, and are processing a ton more too. As with all things, I hope it works out disastrously for them.

They still buy full into the usual TTUN recruiting sunshine pumpers like Sam Webb. Living in some delusional world where they "seem to be in the lead" for guys just because they happen to breathe the word Michigan.

The only higher rated guy left they might actually get is Bennett Warren, and even there Texas A&M is liable to coming roaring and swoop him away. There class is going to finish out with their usual mash of low 4* and relatively unknown 3* guys.

And as @Buckeye86 said above, it's going to be hilarious to see how it shakes out when they have to crunch numbers and castoff a bunch of guys because they are way over the limit. They really are going full SEC, but not with upper level guys. They are going to bring in as many low 4*/3* that will come and then send the ones who don't pass the test after 1 season (or less) to the chopping block.

Gotta think a big run of "medical retirements" for some of those super juniors & seniors still hanging around is coming.

They will beat their chest about player development when they have a decent season… while completely ignoring all the kids they processed out who they didn’t develop one bit.

The crazy notion that they can turn any low rated guy into a stud is completely bogus anyway.

They do reasonably well with the moderately rated guys. Players like Ojabo who how they talk you'd think were unknowns, but Ojabo was #220 overall in the composite in his class, not a "elite" level recruit but a decent one at least. Most of the success here has came at OL and DL.

The hit rate on the low low 4* and 3* guys they've loaded up on under Harbaugh is pretty low though. Of course you are going to hit on a few here and there when 1/3rd or more of your class annually is made up of these type of guys.

Their golden goose of these kinds of player is hilariously Ronnie Bell. They constantly bring him up as a "WHAT ABOUT!" when some of DFBIA drifts from the approved line of thinking and questions why they take settle for many lower rated players (especially so early in cycles) Guy had 2.269 yards in FIVE YEARS and only 9 TDs. He woulda been a after thought #4/#5 WR at best on most upper level teams.

For example look at their 2020 class

They brought in 8 players that ranked higher than 400th in the 247 composite.

Only 1 of those players is even worth mentioning, Kris Jenkins, and he is a pretty middling DL.

4 transferred out and the other 3 are forgettable career reserves.

But yea, they develop those kinda guys like clock work according to their bright fans.

Same with the 2019 class.

9 players >400th in the composite

Only 1 "success" who was DJ Turner.

SIX ended up transferring out, 1 was medically retired last year and 1 is still playing (Mike Sainristil who is a pretty average at best college DB who is likely to go undrafted, he's one of those players they act like is a TRUE MICHIGAN MAN! for coming back for yet another year, but truth is he wasnt getting drafted anyways)

Does TTUN have a analyst similar to Kurilic and Birmingham? I keep getting news blurbs that always seems surprised that some recruit chose to go someplace else and there was some belief that they were in the lead.

Are their analyst's that bad, or are they just afraid to not share things that not rosy.
