ttun News (2016 version)

i found myself getting banned from Michigan 247 Sports Facebook site today...for using logic!

They posted an article about Michigan supposedly having the best secondary in the Big Ten. A Michigan fan replied, "that's nice when are they going to show it." I quickly took the opportunity to agree that the poster was correct that OSU clearly has the best secondary in the Big Ten. The admin for Michigan 247 Sports replied in the thread saying, "Michigan currently has the best pass defense in the Big Ten and 16th nationally through 3 games." So I politely retorted with this picture and said that it's easy to have a great defense when 1-2/1-3 teams are gashing them on the ground."

About 10 minutes later I found my commented deleted and permanently unable to comment on any thread. All because I used logic and facts! I'll chalk this up to a huge victory. :lift::boogie:

Below is the clearly cut up thread where they deleted my facts. A Michigan fan even agreed that they couldn't dispute my facts. Lulz

Tulsa (Not even mentioning add OU) is a better passing team then anyone scUM has played so far this year. Colorado's QB was looking pretty good before he got KOed on scUMs D though. Boasting about having the "#1 PASS D IN THE B1G!" after playing 2 dumpster fires (Hawaii/UCF) and Colorado is like bragging about being the smartest kid on the short bus.

They're significantly more-experienced and have much better offensive coaching this year. I'd be surprised and disappointed if CU doesn't play in a minor bowl this year.

I would say Oregon would be a decent gauge of Colorado this year, seeing that Oregon is pretty average this year. But it looks like Lifau is either not going to play or be playing not very healthy. If he gets knocked out for any extend period of time, they are screwed.

The last time they went bowling was 2007. They managed to scrape by to 6-6.
I wouldn't count on it.

MacIntyre has gone 4-8, 2-10, and 4-9 the last 3 years... I think even there you could make comparisons between his career and Hazell's. Both good DCs. Both went to Mid Majors where, after 1 good year, got hired onto unwinnable teams.
CU's problems also run deep. Cali is over-recruited and a long ways to go, they no longer have a line to Texas, and at times they've even failed to capitalize on the little in-State talent when CSU under McElwain focused hard on offering all the local 3stars.

Eye test. They're better than they've been and have some players. I agree that CU's up against a bunch of things in terms of ever returning to early 90s form, but it's a good school in a good conference in a great location and there's no good reason why they can't go minor bowling pretty much every year with an occasional conference-title contending season (at least until USC gets its shit together) MacIntyre inherited a mess after Hawkins dug a grave for the program and had the players looking into it and then Embree (a Lou Tepper-level bad coach) shoved them in and brought in a cement truck to fill the hole. They now have upgraded their facilities and are starting to pick things up in recruiting somewhat. Not sure if MacIntyre's the long-term answer yet (this season and the next one or two will tell the tale), but someone can be.

The CU grads in sports media (Fowler, Schick at ESPNU, etc) that really follow that program are optimistic they're two years away from being a competive team. If they stay healthy they are talented enough to clip somebody they probably shouldn't this season or next, but the foundation is for 2018.

They were giving Michigan all they could handle before Liufau left the game with an injury.

So... Illinois? Well, minus the great location.. then again, having moved to Denver metro in HS... Boulder ain't all that either. Almost everywhere in the PAC is a better location. Maybe they beat WSU and Utah?

Regardless, none of that makes a legit team. Every conference has their doormats. CU has become the PAC's

1. HC ain't gonna last 2 more years
2. What talent? Rivals pegged them at 67th this year. Syracuse had a higher ranking. They finished dead last in the PAC -- WSU finished a full 10 spots higher even!
3. That's like believing what scUM sycophants claim about NC potential this year... actually it's even worse. And I place CU firmly in the excessively arrogant category with the likes of DFBIA, ND, Texas, etc.

People can piss and moan about national broadcasters and sports writers all they want, it makes good message board fodder, but those guys have watched more football from press boxes and field level than most of us can even fathom. They're at winter conditioning, they're at fall camps, and they're in the film rooms with coaches on Thursdays and Fridays breaking down All-22 with a playbook in hand and learning from the inside (and from rival coaches) how good teams are.

When CU grads like Fowler and Schick and Klatt are saying this team should be really good in two years; there is light at the end of the tunnel, I'm going to give that more weight than the idea that CU sucks and always will because of inertia.

Does that mean they'll be an 8 win team or an 11 win team? No idea. But they should finally be competitive. There honestly is no reason Colorado shouldn't be. That campus is flipping gorgeous.

This explains how the preseason and post season polls are basically the same.

So basically... "Just wait guys, you'll see."

They can throw their "best pass defense in college football" award in with all of their September Heisman trophies.

Guess what, guys? You're probably going to kick the shit out of Penn State today. That doesn't mean your overall lack of elite talent won't be exposed again when you finally play a top tier team.

After 6 games last season, Michigan's defense was holding teams to 6.3 points per game and 65.8 yards rushing per game.

In game 12, Ohio State scored 42 points and rushed for 369 yards against them. The same thing will happen this season.
