97.1 The Ticket is the Detroit sports radio station. They are killing Michigan today and calling the kid Jesus McGary. They are talking about how all Michigan fans downplayed basketball's' relevence and importance over the past 20 years and now with one recruit they are talking about how great Michigan basketball is/will be.

They had a good run last year in the tourny, they have a really good class coming in this season, and McGary just propelled them into having a top 5 class for 2012. They still have to perform on the court, but it's a far cry from what's been recruited the last 10 seasons.

Yawn...Why Michigan is ranked is beyond me. IMO the conference sucks so they might have a decent record but overall I don't see how they will be better without Morris.

If Hardaway leaves after this year that negates getting this kid because like you pointed out he may be a one and done.

All I have to say to Michigan fans is enjoy watching us tie Purdue for most B10 titles all-time with 19...

Hopefully we play you guys 3 times...

You missed the point of their sarcasm. The radio guys were pointing out how Michigan fans downplayed basketball as MSU was sending their kids to the Final Four every few years and Michigan sucked. Now, all of the sudden Michigan fans are willing to talk bball and act like its importance never diminished.

Landing Burke and Brundidge will soften the blow of Hardaway leaving, if he leaves. Beilein has actually put together a few classes in a row now with good talent.

I would say to the wise to actually wait and see Michigan play someone. I still don't see how Morris will be replaced. I'm sorry but Michigan scares nobody. All I know is untill I see something on the court I'm not convinced. I guess people can use moral victories as a crutch but I don't. Hey afterall we "almost" beat Kentucky.

I know this sounds a bit crazy, but I actually think that UM will be better this year. Morris was good, but he actually was the reason they lost a couple of games due to his ball-hogging ways.

I believe I said it on BP before, but I think Beilein is a decent coach and will bring them back to relevance in the next seaon or two.

Either way, Fuck Michigan.

Just the fact that they're getting players in that are leaving early and others that are potentially leaving early is good for the B1G.

I'm not sold on McGary but he's better than Morgan. He seems like a Byron "don't call me B.J." Mullens type that's getting by with size in HS. He'll be good, but not near a Sully type as a frosh.

I like Burke and Hardaway but I would love to see another last minute win over the Wolverines like the Evan Turner buzzer beater a few years back.

ugh, that was devastating.....and it was Mike Harts fault for being in attendance.........

I've read McGary as being compared to David Lee, but with better defensive skills. Just sucks we have to wait an entire season before he arrives.....

Michigan football still hasn't bucked the curse of Mike Hart.

It's never a bad thing to have recruits lined up for the future even though you have to wait another year to see them put on that ugly maize and blue uni.

He's a big boy. Good for U-M. Next couple of years could be fun.

Mitch McGary Breaks Backboard at Elite 24 - YouTube

Things that stand out to me after watching this video:

1. He was in the  layup line  and dunked the ball and hung on the rim with all of his size.... He was trying to destroy that hoop.
2. He's considered tough because of such an idiotic move?! The fuck?
3. He's going to get eaten alive if he has the opportunity to face Sullinger.
