TSUN 20, Sparty 26 (Final, OT)

Sparty, with their rich history and experience, found a way to still be same ole sparty despite a big lead late. As the flagship school in the conference, they do it better than anyone else.

Yet somehow Michigan found a way to out sparty them.

Tate got away with a lot of dangerous plays, including that sideline throw right at the db (it wasn't a hidden defender either). He just takes huge chances like that.

He plays with a lot of moxy and guts, but it finally caught up with him, on the scoreboard and physically.

That duck over the middle right before the TD.... Hope he tries that against Kurt Coleman and company.

As if, Dick Rod will have the whole OSU starting defense suspended for the game. He's watching the videos.

He'd kill for that 2nd team d. Williams, sweat, amos, Russell would all start up north. Simon, rose, Klein, Johnson, sabino would all log heavy minutes. oj might start in his first real pt.

Sparty's wins: Montana State, M*ch*g*n
Sparty's losses: Every other FBS team they've played.

...And that was post-collapse Sparty. Hell, it was mid-collapse Sparty. That was some of the shittiest football I've ever seen.

For the second half, I left my hotel here in downtown San Antonio and found a bar that had the game. It was a goddamn scUM bar, too - or at least it was at the time. There about 25 Wal-Mart Wolverines in that place high-fiving and yukking it up over the last six minutes of the game, and they cleared out fast when myself and the three or four Sparty fans/grads there started laughing back at them in OT. That was great!

Another thing, the 60 yard TD was possible only because of overpursuit and bad angles taken by the players. For such a highly regarded defensive coach, his players make a lot of fundamental mistakes. Here's to Dantonio correcting those things in the future. But it doesn't take anything away from a scUM defeat.

The Tater = overrated. I wanna puke when I see the slobbering media talking heads gushing like school girls at a Jonas Brothers concert and blowing him kisses.

Spartan win = well deserved!

you mean did dick rod throw his punter under the bus? im going with a yes. not sure how you call a punt option fake then not take responsibility for the call. pretty weak if you ask me.

Did someone from Michigan steal your girl? kick your dog? diss your truck?

The kids a freshman and so far he's outplayed a certain sophomore. Maybe it's the level of comp, but he's made Michigan football interesting. And when we beat Michigan how are you going to brag if there's nothing there worth beating?

Michigan could be taking the field with 8 year old girls and they'd still be worth beating.

If anyone subscribes to the Sporting News Today, check out page 17, where Dave Curtis picks games against his 96 year old grandmother, Grams B. Apparently she won rather easily against him last year, and this year holds a 3 game lead already. Anyhow, her pick for this game today?

Michigan State 26, scUM 20. AWESOME

Easy to see why he would pick M*ch*g*n though. He probably has a scholarship offer from them.
